They've seen me win a few local races but think the B1G universities I am interested in attending for academic reasons should be awarding me a full scholarship. Neither one of them went to college themselves and if I don't get a scholarship they expect me to work 40-hrs per week while in school to cover my tuition and room & board because they didn't save a dime for my college education and "know plenty of people who financed their own educations". Per what they reported to FAFSA, their combined incomes are $93,000 annually. I have only gotten one B+ in high school and the rest A's. ACT score was 32.

Pardon me for being blunt, but I can't imagine any DI school offering a dime of scholarship money for those times, much less a B1G program. By comparison, my HS PRs were 1:58/4:20/9:27 and I got only two offers from DII programs. I ended up walking on at a DI mid-major and earning a partial scholarship after a year. And that was 30 years ago...it's much more competitive these days.
My point is that you should not count on getting any athletic aid unless you significantly downgrade you school choices or drop your times. Your grades seem great; keep up the good work in the classroom and you might be eligible for a small amount of academic aid.
I hate to give you my "old guy" attitude, but your whining about having to work your way through college and your parents not contributing makes you sound like a tremendously entitled pansy. My dad was teacher and didn't give me crap for college either, so I became an independent student at age 18 (meaning, I established my own residence and my dad no longer claimed me on his taxes, etc.). That enabled me to get a small academic grant. Then I got school loans and worked nights to pay the balance of my tuition and room & board.....all while training, competing and going to class.
Time to put on your big boy pants, kid. Life ain't easy, and it starts now.
