When I first got out of college almost 20 years ago, I felt the same way. When I got out of college, I had no car, a pile of debt, no health insurance, and little else. What I did have was a degree in a useful major from a respectable program and a work ethic born from working a bunch of crap fast food jobs and low paying internships while in school from the time I was 15. With hard work, thrifty spending and smart saving habits you should be fine. Heck, unemployment is low, it's actually a good time to be getting out of college. As long as your degree is in a useful field (think engineering and medicine), you should be fine. There is always a transfer in wealth from one generation to the next, you just have to find a position where you can capitalize on that. With people trying to live forever, a good place is the medical field. Another area is engineering as we are constantly trying to find innovative solutions to cope with an increasing population in a world with scarce resources. Stop whining and get to work.
