It married a hot woman, while it was dressed as a man.

With his normal high T he runs great times as a man, for a woman, because he ISN'T A WOMAN.
Cut his T to the normal for a woman, and he can't compete with them.
The fact is that men should not be competing with women, regardless the kind of drugs they are taking.
Women get banned when accused of being on drugs.
Men are encouraged to take drugs, so they can compete against women.

2014 was full IAAF protocol.
More went wrong for her in 2014 than just the testosterone inhibiting drugs.
She had a knee injury and couldn't train.
She is also just an all round better athlete now, older and more mature. She wasn't on these T inhibitors when she ran great times before 2012, including 1:55. In 2016 she was SO much better than she was pre 2012.
Even on the drugs she will be smashing 2:00.
She didn't have a knee injury, she had a 'knee injury'.
Big difference there.
I was watching the Olympic 800 final with my dad and he was like why are 3 men running in the women's 800 final honestly Bishop of Canada should have won instead of getting 4th or 5th hard for real women to compete against those 3 men running that race.

toomanyspikes wrote:It should be different because this isn't politics. Obviously someone has not viewed any times or records or you would know that men are faster than women on a competitive scale. If we made the entire sport of track and field a competition between men and women together, no woman would ever reach the final of any major race ever.
Then why not have a non African category for distance running? Or a non altitude division? Or a weight category? Just becasue someone cannot win or make a final is not much of an argument to create a category for them. Contrary to what you say, having a women's category and the Semenya situation is all about politics.
You are missing the whole point of this argument. Generally, the world has decided that creating a sub category for women to compete in, is a good thing. It gives them motivation to pursue their athletic dreams, because they can have realistic goals of success in their female sub category. Road races do the same thing for masters (over 40 year old) athletes. The topic at issue here, is whether Castor (who biologically speaking is an intersex individual) should compete with women. And if so, should she take hormone suppression so that she more cleanly fits into the female category (since from a biological perspective, she is not fully female, but a mixture of both male and female)?
To go back to the analogy of age category in road races. What if someone was not over 40yrs old, but wanted to complete in the masters category? Most reasonable people would argue over the evidence of whether that person really belonged in the masters category, not whether the master category should exist to begin with. To argue over whether the masters category should exist in the first place, would be to sidestep the real issue in an attempt to look smart. But in fact, it does not contribute to the discussion.

I like to dress up as a woman on weekends. Do you permit me to use the women's bathroom then?
I am glad that Coe has opted to appeal the "CAS" ruling. It was a politically motivated ruling and defied common sense, causing the Rio Olympics "women's" 800 to be a farce. The IAAF rule allows for a higher level of testosterone than is normally found in women and is very fair in my opinion. If the few intersex athletes don't care to take the required medication to maintain testosterone at reasonably low levels in order to compete on a level playing field with women, then they are welcome to compete in the men's races.

The IAAF has been enforcing a testosterone limit in women from 2011.
2016 1:55.28 Rio de Janeiro
2015 1:59.59 Beijing (National Stadium
2014 2:02.66 Roma (Stadio Olimpico)
2013 1:58.92 Rieti (Guidobaldi)
2012 1:57.23 London (Olympic Stadium)
2011 1:56.35 Daegu (DS)
2010 1:58.16 Milano
2009 1:55.45 Berlin (Olympiastadion)
2008 2:04.23 Pune
So what happened? Talk me through the narrative.
And CAS rescinded the T-limit in 2016. Notie any difference?Caster could solve all of this by handing over "her" balls, but for some strange reason seems to like them....

I really hate to look but does anyone else think that looks like a a folded sausage too?
Because you and others seem to be deliberately ignoring the obvious facts from that timeline, I'll say it outright:
1st May 2011, IAAF makes it illegal for female athletes to exceed 10nmol of T
September 2011 Caster runs 1:56 whilst on T suppressors.
Aug 2012 Caster has been on T suppression for a minimum of 16 months. She wins Olympic silver running 1:57 in the final only losing to a Russian Doper.
2013 Caster runs 1:58. Been on T suppression for 30 months.
2014 Caster has knee injury but runs 2:02
July 2015 CAS rules that T suppression is not allowed. Caster comes off the therapy.
August 2015 Semenya runs 1:59. Slower than when she was on T suppression therapy for 30 months.
2016 Caster Semenya destroys all competition and looks to be in 1:52/1:53 shape.
I will reiterate that I'm confident that even if they bring back T suppression, she will remain a big player in the women's 800m.
Her 2012/2013 seasons prove this.
If you believe she ran 1:59 in 2015 because she was benefiting being off the drugs for a month then you must believe that in 2011 she ran 1:56 whilst suffering their effects for 4 months.
Semenya is a 1:52 athlete that when on the T suppression is still a 1:55 athlete. So who really cares about the results of the CAS appeal?

The 1:53 is bogus, then, isn't it?
