I am older than Brady and not impressed by the achievements at his age. I could run within 15 seconds of my 5k p.r. at 39. His longevity in comparison to other QBs is due to his offensive line giving him great protection throughout his career and taking little damage. When his protection breaks down like in the first half and the Houston game he looks fairly weak. So don't give me that physical toughness garbage.

If Tom Brady performed within a couple of percent of his best, he would be out of the league. The sports pyramid comes to a peak. You're so far down the pyramid it doesn't matter if you slide a little.

His pocket presence has always been stellar - his ability to slide/shuffle to the right places has kept him mostly out of harms way for most of his career. He's also been pretty smart about throwing the ball away if it's simply not there.

Like a recent poster had mentioned, I'm slightly older than Brady and feel pretty close to my peak, and I have a horrible diet. That being said, I don't have 350lb guys driving me to the ground on a somewhat regular basis.

Agreed. He is payed well and gets my respect.

Peyton Manning is one year removed from the NFL and one year older than Brady. Obvious doper (Al Jazeera documentary) and was constantly banged up during his career.

He looks like he could break 10 seconds...in the football 40.

What he is better at is making clutch throws and leadership. A lot of younger guys are better at "throwing". Even when he was young there were other guys better at "throwing".

And if a pro athlete is "pretty close to his peak" he is either out of the game, or no longer number one at his position. Example: Joe Montana was able start a season for the Chiefs, and I think even make the playoffs, but he wasn't the Super Bowl QB Joe Montana any longer. Look at running backs. They only need to lose a half step to no longer be able to hit the hole before it closes. They are still "close to their peak."

Throwing is the least demanding. Pitchers and QBs go on forever.

I think baseball would be more exciting if the pitcher could be sacked.

The patriots cheat at every opportunity. Even the janitorial staff at gillette stadium are cheaters. And yes Clearly brady is a doper

This stat doesn't really tell much... He missed the first four games, of course he has the least sacks.

I don't eat breakfast, then I do my 1 hour lunchtime run, then I eat 2 small bags of Andy Capp's hot fries, then I have something like ramen for dinner or an entire large sausage and pepperoni pizza.

Statistically the greatest QB ever but he is not the most talented. Aaron Rogers is more talented. His offensive line is the greatest ever over the last 15 years. Other teams always have trouble getting to him, once under pressure, he is very average. As an athlete, he cant run fast, jump high or jump long. Does he need any of those traits to be a great QB, no.

He's a great leader and passer of the ball. Does he deserve all the praise, yes.

Why do average football fans always have trouble understanding that a great QB who gets rid of the ball quickly to the right target will make the offensive line look better than it is?
