Massachusetts ate too many Boston Baked Beans, took a dump and created Rhode Island, while Harvard took one to create Brown U.

Block Island, off of Rhode island, is a great place to visit by ferry and stay overnight
Providence has an old Italian section with great restaurants

Block Island is my favorite place on Earth. There is a small town with everything you need. The rest of the island is relatively untouched. Big hills, tons of trails, huge bluffs 100+ overlooking the ocean make for an incredible run where you can see the whole entire island in a long run.

Hush. Do not speak of this. You may arouse the attention of "others".
The state symbol can be seen on top a building in Providence when you're sprinting through town with your head down to get to Conn. or Mass. on I-95., it's a giant blue cockroach.
No kidding.

Friendly's and Newport Creamery
The Ground Round - where you can weigh yourself and eat for the price of your weight as a kid
I grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania and we had Dell's Lemonade (came in a yellow carton), Friendly's, & The Ground Round. I remember they had sundaes that came in plastic mini baseball helmets. I had the entire Major League at one point. I was a tiny thing too. The most I think my parents ever paid for me was 79 cents.
I'll have a grinder with a cabinet, please.

Donne done got it wrong, the big clod, its plain he ain't never been to Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
The state of Hawaii is an archipelago consisting of a bunch of islands, and not a single island, and Puerto Rico is an unincorporated U.S. territory and still hasn't been admitted as a state.FarOutMan wrote:

Providence is a beautiful city. The Capitol is butt ugly. Federal Hill and the food there is extremely over rated. The beaches are much better than the crap in Connecticut, but can't compare to the outer cape. Tiverton/Little Compton area is one of the most beautiful pieces of land in the country. Block Island, when not smothered in tourists, is a true gem. The vast majority of what remains is depressing.

I doubt you have been inside the capitol building. It's spectacular.
What beaches have you been to? There are plenty of the crowded beach but there are quiet ones also where you can swim in the 70+ degree water in the summer. Try finding 70+ degree water on the outer cape.
Newport is a really unique place to visit with a rich history, great beaches, amazing cliff walk that will make you think you're on the west coast, and a great downtown area.
I forgot to mention we have a lot of fast runners hanging around here
Been inside the Capitol. I wouldn't call it spectacular, but it is nice. The outside looks like they forgot to finish it. I said the beaches are ok. I've been to most of them. They are certainly nothing to brag about. They do make CT look like a cesspool. I'll agree with you on the fast runners!
Newport????? Mansions???
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
