I changed my mind and decided to list my income, wth:
$850k + bonuses (I won't list the bonuses, but they're based on sales and other factors - yes my income has regularly stepped into the seven figure realm since 2004). No, I cannot say who I have written for.
^This guy is full of crap. Very cool to choose such a unique profession to lie about having on Letsrun.
government lawyer in northeast state
just north of 100k
5 yrs practicing (w/ 2 yrs in biglaw making 170-180k before current gig)
I looked up public salaries for City of Boston employees. There are police officers, foremen, and train/bus drivers making 170k+ after overtime. Shows what fools we are for going to college and then grad school.

Bruh there's something to be said about doing what you love. I love the human body, being involved with health of patients, and patient education. Procedures are cool too.

Do you know how much the winter weather sucks for Boston police officers to go out in? Good for them making that kind of coin. They earn it. Now for the bus/train drivers, putting up with a-hole students alone justifies their salaries. And I have no idea what "foremen" you are talking about but if they are in charge of putting up big bleeping constructions projects, again good for them.

Yes I live in Boston and this has been one of the most mild winters ever. It has only snowed once so far in the past 3 months. Those police officers who sit in their heated cars at intersections playing on their phones sure deserve 170k. It's raining right now, oh the humanity!!
FWIW I have a relative who's a Boston police officer and he openly admits that he takes naps in his cruiser on duty. He also works as much detail as possible because he says they basically just stand there and get paid $75/hr. Many police officers have it hard but many work the system as well.

One of the following is true about every person who posted a salary and profession on this thread:
A - They are also hung like a horse and have a trophy wife (i.e. trolls)
or
B - They are telling the truth and they drive a bright colored sports car and are hung like a mouse.
I have the car only because the wife asked for it.
I am very much a former runner - but view lets run from time to time. I am always amazed at these type of threads. Trying to see others try to impress people they do not know and will never meet and even if they did they would not like very much.
However, 100k is not that much money in the real world. I started my own company more than 20 years ago. Worked hard, used my degrees to my advantage in a field that paid well. I gained experience made some good decisions hired a few people to help me that stayed and invested there future with me. Now I have 50 employees - many of whom make more that 100k - or close to it.
No easy answers and magic pills. Work hard, use your degree doing something you like, gain experience, be humble, stay out of debt, live and work within your means. My income is not that important nor is my profession, follow my advice above and you to can make a lot of money.
I am the owner and operator of a domestic brand auto dealership in the mid west for the past 25 years:
Salary $5500 a month
Bonus 10000 a month
I own the real estate and lease it to the auto dealership and make 8000 a month from that, so i make 23500 a month = 280000 a year.
During the good years, I will take more money out of the business, but my industry is very cyclical and undergoing massive change so I just count on the above money.
Over the past 25 years I have had a range of income from a loss of -500000 to as high as +800000.
I get some other things like paid health insurance and (obviously) use of a car.
I go into my business 6-7 days a week plus have an office in my home. So I am almost always in work mode. Very stressful. Not sure I would do it over again knowing what I know now.

Guess what, 650k-150k = 500k.
So yeah, physician or doctor is a top notch job, extremely well paid.
This is totally bs. Physician salaries have been plummeting for the last 20-30 years as MBA / MHA / JD a$$hat healthcare administrators who do not add any value have siphoned off money. In many specialities, docs make more in Canada than they do in the US. Average physician salary in the us now is 125-180k, not bad but not rich by any measure. We need to get the Leeches who add no value out of medicine.
Not sure where you're coming from but where I live in the US, plenty physicians I know are making 300k plus after taxes. Just saying...
