Yea.....the UN resolution post 9/11 was simply a way for the UN to cover its rear for an Iraq invasion.
Saddam should have been removed post '91 Gulf War when he invaded another country. GHWB didn't have the stomach for it nor did we have the connections for it.
The Arabian peninsula/SW Asia is an area we largely ignored and let authoritarian regimes rule the area as the provided political stability that we knew how to deal with.
