remember that Trump's rallies are entertainment...they aren't as political as say a Warren rally would be. People are bored, they want to go see an entertainer so they go see what crazy *&^* Trump will say this time. And he plays along.

Lots of polls still showing Trump utterly unable to get more than 41% in a hypothetical head to head against Biden/Warren/Sanders. Trump's support is capped at 41%. I don't see how he can win with just 41% of the country.

Of course, the EC messes all this math up. Trump could get millions fewer votes in TX and still get all those electoral votes.

Trump is finding 45,000 new Trumpers, or he won't convince 22,500 to switch over enter Trumplandia, from which their is no mental escape, it seems.

Every Trump rally has paid actors, and Trump staff forced to attend, who are directed to stand in specific spots, and scream certain slogans at the same time. They are actors. Some paid. Some forced slave labor.

I totally blew the math, which was a big point in my post.

The point remains will rally enthusiasm mean more votes or are they just the people will vote for him anyway?

No, it really wasn't. By itself, a president's requesting foreign interference in an American election is treason--most particularly, when giving aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States...which Russia and China both arguably are. No quid pro quo required--the request itself is more than enough.

Beyond that, even if the request had gone to an ally, the President's attempted subversion of the American electoral process has to rank as an impeachable offense.

treason is a strong word - not sure I'd go there

but it's clearly a betrayal of the nation and failing to live up to the trust placed with the president. And since he's done it 3 or so times now, he clearly doesnt' see it as his job to protect american democracy and defend the laws of the nation.

And yeah it's also a campaign finance felony. And again, since trump has committed campaign finance felonies more than once, he clearly doesn't see it as his job to defend the law.

Since he is a repeat offender and likely to break trust and laws again, he must be removed from office.
