Something to watch out for is Trump declaring the certain FBI investigation documents are classified, cannot be seen by anyone, and cannot be looked at or used by the Senate. This is why Trump and McConnell were so smug agreeing to and FBI "investigation." They know they can bias it by Trump classifying the parts they don't like.
Politically, this would make absolutely no sense. If something pops in the investigation, just move to the next nominee and fast track it. It's possible that this may have been the right move a couple of weeks ago when the allegations first surfaced.
If info is withheld for any reason and Kavanaugh is confirmed absent it, it will be a political rallying point vs. the Republicans and could cost them in the long run. Maybe they feel that the lifetime appointment is worth it over winning elections during that time but the Repubs can have both with a different nominee.
Frankly, both parties are out of their collective effin' minds.
