The original point was great, though. I agree wholeheartedly that she was, like Ryan Hall, weak at 1500-5k compared to longer stuff. I myself, although not any kind of pro, realized right away that I was no good at those kind of distances and immediately pursued 10k and up. I didn't waste a single year running events I had no chance of success at. Why someone like Ryan did is a mystery but he did find his best events eventuall. I guess Hasay has, too.
I concur with those who did not see anything like this coming, although the 10M race may have been the real breakthrough. Not very long ago I considered her just like German Fernandez: gets some press simply because Nike gets it for them. When it comes to actual results, maybe competitive at D2. Maybe. Now I admit my mind is changed. Good luck to her!
