Sorry, dude, you are simply running too fast and getting too greedy with the miles. Your body is not ready for the mileage you are asking for at the paces you are trying to run at. Very likey you have poor biomechanics as well. You are 32 years old, started running 6 months ago. Think about it.
You need to slow the heck down, build your mileage at a slow pace and give it time to let your biomechanics and tissues adapt. This nonsense about doing many short runs in an attempt to get to some magical weekly mileage is a recipe for disaster. Well burnout at the very least.
BTW you are a 40:40 minute 10k runner, not a 38 minute. This "hilly course" adjustement thing comes up again and again where people think they can lop minutes off their times because the course was "hilly". It's a fools game. Stop it.
Anyway, who the heck wants to run doubles for 2 or 3 miles day after day after day? For what? Hoping to get your 10K time down to 37 minutes? SMH
