Umass fails to hire coach
Umass fails to hire coach
This is UMass' own fault, specifically the director who aimed too high in the search for a men's only position with one scholarship invested in distance. Plenty of up and coming coaches would've jumped at this opportunity and done well with it - instead UMass made a massive blunder and interviewed people who were never taking the job and only using it for a raise or leverage in their current job. In this case aiming lower would've been the right thing to do and they could've gotten a very good coach to start the transition now rather than kicking the can further down the road. Hopefully they figure this out before they try to hire again next time.
Joe Lynn was fired from MIZZOU! Just ask the former assistant coaches who used to be there that worked with him. Most athletic departments have the decency to allow the coach to resign and that's what they post on the website. It's happened a couple of times at the University I am currently at! Coach is let go and they put on the website they resigned. He had issues with his coaching the team and he was let go! I have inside source on this! I do think he's a good coach and will continue to be a good coach. Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes at MU. He did inherit a pretty talented group at Hillsdale and did well with them. The question is can he recruit!

What about Lake Erie and Limestone? Who did they hire for their cross jobs?
Lake Erie is still without an AD. So until that's rectified, I don't see them hiring a permanent coach.

Between this and the BBALL HC blunder, this AD is really not looking great for UMASS. Lucky they didn't fire OB.
Limestone has hired it's Head XC Coach. Should be announced soon.
Who did Limestone hire???
Any word on Coe College XC HC position?
How about Eastern Mennonite University Director Position? I heard their going after a power five assistant coach. Guess who?

Is Forest Braden definitely a go at W and M? Did he have an assistant at UCLA that he is bringing along?
Hopefully Royal Runner isn't a student at EMU! Based on your use of "their" instead of "they're" it doesn't say much for the fundamental grasp of english at EMU. Maybe you're Power 5 coach can help you (JK).

This isn't an English class, let it go.. create another thread to teach proper English grammar if it bothers you so much.

Where?
Just ruffling your lion's mane a little bit! Why would an athlete at a D3 school be excited about a Power 5 coach? Typically, this would indicate a little different philosophy wouldn't you think? You said, "Guess who?" How about Andrew Begley (was Assistant at UConn)? Someone from the ACC?

Can he Recruit??? Do you really think Mizzou got to where they are because of luck ? all the upper classman and women were recruited by Lynn(Including current triple crown champion Karissa Schweizer). Lynn recruits his ass off, don't know why he pays rent, he is always on the road recruiting when not fulfilling his coaching duties, along with being a good coach, he is an outstanding recruiter, I know first hand because he recruited me to Mizzou.
Mark Carroll was announced at Drake in late June! A week away from XC athletes arriving on campus.
Auburn must have their guy...who is it?!
At least there are rumors for William & Mary.

They never even posted the job on UMass job board...
Mike Henderson, who had been at William and Mary as an assistant and left when Solinsky did, has shown up as an assistant coach at Cornell. He is a good guy.
