Great thread. Kinda surprised it never made it past 2 pages in the initial run.

Definitely not the sprinter. If it is a scramble for resources the MMA guy will win otherwise those that can go long times and distances without food will have a large advantage.
Trust Subway to provide the most intelligent answer (I've only read the first page mind).
All the previous posters assume this is simply a race between the athlete and the zombies.
What if you can't run and can only hide from the Zombies (ie. they are everywhere)?
Other humans might be as big a threat as the zombies in any hypothetical zombie apocalypse.
Not only will MMA dudes be able to beat up the others, they are far more likely to know some bad dudes you would like to be on the right side of in these situations (especially Europe, Russia, Japan, where MMA still has a 'cage fighting' element to it and there are close links to the criminal underworld).
Those who are mocking the fitness of MMA fighters don't know $hi*. The average LetsRunner here wouldn't last more than a day in a zombie apocalypse because they'd demand they're 'easy run' at slower than zombie pace, to avoid 'burn out'.
Curling athletes win.
Cold environment suck for zombies.
....As long as they have enough stones,
they'll just bowl the zombies down.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
