I haven't "raced" a marathon since 1995 - ran some since but just in trainers. Assuming the training goes well, I'm planning on doing Columbus in October.
What shoes do you race your marathons in?

Mizuno Wave Phantom. 2:51 Chicago 2002.
Really good shoe for slightly fast guys with neutral pronation.
Nike Air Streak
Latest model which is green/black/white.
I wore no socks, and my feet survived without a scratch.
They are well cushioned yet not too soft. Are also pretty responsive for heel, mid, or forefoot strikers.
I was wondering about suitable racing flats for a marathon as well. I am hoping to wear flats in my next marathon since the advantage over trainers has to be huge over that type of distance. However, I want to make sure I have something that is stable enough and has enough cushioning that I am not going to destroy myself running in them.
I've heard people say positive things about the Air Streak. One question I had is aren't there a number of different types of the Air Streak? The Air Streak Spectrum Plus, etc?
Anybody ever do a marathon in the Asics DS Racers? I'm trying to look at a few options.
