Give it up you're wrong, the majority of the country does not want the players to continue to be punished by the actions of one old pedifile. You do, because you are a biased fan.

Anyone who wants to see the innocent suffer has mental issues beyond reparation. Anyone who holds a bizarre ongoing grudge like this has mental issues. What im tryna say is, the OP needs some sort of help and therapy. I'm sure he's going insane since Penn St surprised him and won the Big Ten championship. Hey OP, every institution has its rapists and pedophiles, stop trolling your ignorance about PSU. Congrats to the big 10 champs, the perseverance of O'Brien and Franklin is astounding, given that the NCAA tried to bury them ,like the OP has, 5 years ago.

It's pathetic to see just how many people still defend and/or disregard what happened at that school, and what it says about our American priorities and culture as a whole. They really couldn't care less. That football program should have been suspended for at least 5 years.

No schools dont cover up child rape in their locker rooms.
Most of you on here have views that are ridiculous. The state school of Pennsylvania covered up at the highest level a felony and let it go on for years. What you ignore you condone.
The football program should of recieved the death penalty and all administration and coaches that did this should be in prison. The players and other innocent people would of been allowed to go to other schools and at the end of the day had their careers in football.
The innocent would of been fine.
Schools don't rape people
People rape people and they have been punished
Why is that so hard to understand?
Schools dont cover up crimes, people do, and those people have been punished.
You want to punish people for something they had no control over.
I like how you talk about the "school" as if it is a person.
Dude get a god damn clue. Yes one man was a rapist. The issue with penn state is that they knew about it and LET IT HAPPEN. That scumbag Paterno was the ring leader of the shit bags and death via the stress it all caused was sweet justice. Anyone who affiliates or openly supports it is just as much of a scumbag as anyone directly involved.
The craziest part is that it's not like it's Alabama or notre dame, pretty sure paterno only won one title in like 100 years coaching.

Who are you talking about when you say "they"? As the other poster said, the school doesn't do or know anything. People knew. Those people are gone now. The current people have nothing to do with those people.

Look in the mirror please.
Who is "they"?
"They" have been caught in an investigation and have been punished after a hearing in a court of law.
"They" are people not an institution,
Should we punish you for your fathers crimes?
"Anyone who affiliates or openly supports it is just as much of a scumbag as anyone directly involved. "
Wow. Come join us in reality.
So supporters of Penn state should be sentenced to life in prison?
The crimes of Joe "Pedo" Paterno must never be forgotten.

No doubt, but should they punish everyone else, the players, fans, alumni, and a very high percentage of the state college economy?
Seriously taking football away from that place would kill the businesses there. That's what the OP and others want to do. 'Dial it up' suggests I should be punished for defending those not involved.
Good summation. I grew tired of debating with that Average Deplorable dude immediately. I am fine with people being ignorant, but people being willfully stupid bothers me.
It amazes me that a couple people on this thread seriously don't get the gravity of that entire scandal. I absolutely have to imagine if that would have been THEIR children that had gotten raped, and then covered up by an entire institution just to protect a f*ckin football program, they would have vastly different viewpoints.
But hey, it doesn't affect you directly, so why should you care huh? Those kids that were raped and their families should really just get over it, am I right?

Understanding the gravity of the situation doesn't mean that one must blame people who weren't involved. I understand the gravity of the sex abuse within the Catholic church. This doesn't mean that I look down on everyone who attends mass.
No one is downplaying the seriousness of the abuse. We are simply saying that it is moronic to blame people who had nothing to do with it.
Thank you for speaking rationally. I absolutely agree with you that innocent people should not be punished. I don't want a single football player or an innocent student to have to answer for something like that. They did absolutely nothing wrong, and should be able to exist at that school in peace.
However, I still feel that the football program should have been suspended for a few years, NOT because the football players did anything wrong, but because there is a fundamental flaw in the culture at that school where people cared more about the football team than the children that were victimized. It was extremely obvious how the town and the students felt even after Sandusky and Paterno were exposed. They were still behind them 100%.
The current football players should have been allowed to transfer out, and the football program should have been suspended.
Emphasis on the moronic portion of it.

One thing, the players were allowed to transfer out, and some did.

We should all never forget what Joepa did to those kids. I hope Sandusky is rotting in hell.
You're contradicting yourself in this post and you're now back tracking to make yourself look like less of a fool. The football season affects more than just the players it affects the whole town and canceling the season would have devastated it. In the same way the i and others here have devastated your arguements. See me above post.
