Penn State hasn't lost since 9/24, Wisconsin since 10/15, OSU since 10/22, and Michigan since uhh, last week.
So if you're looking for a "hot" Big Ten team, it's probably Penn State.
I don't actually disagree with this, but you neglected to mention that OU hasn't lost since 9/17 & USC since 9/23. I'm not arguing that a particular team should get in based on "momentum," though I think one could make a case for the Sooners. Teams are much different in November than they are in September.
I am simply saying that four of the top seven teams from one conference is a load of crap and this whole argument is based on this incestuous presumption, so we shouldn't even be having it. Frankly, OSU has looked like a pretty feeble team lately, with the exception of their win over a Nebraska team that isn't all that good and has no marquee wins.
Also, I don't care that Mich lost their QB late at Iowa (just like Colorado at Mich) or maybe should've beaten OSU. They lost two games late, and two of their three "top ten" wins are against their own conference, which dilutes their value.
Frankly, I think Clemson is the shakiest team of all, w/the weakest schedule, the worse loss at home, and many near misses. If they somehow lost to Va Tech, I could live with Wisco jumping into the top four, though I think OU has a better case with how they been playing and especially if they crush rival Okla St.
Again, if three of the top four win this week, I think you have to take the one loss or undefeated teams.
