Taking Rupp's fitness from Rio, do you think he would have won in New York today?

Top American, maybe. No chance he runs 2:07:xx on NYC course today.
He beat the winner at the Olympics so yes he would have won.
Ghebreslassie was obviously a better runner today than he was in Rio, so no, just because Rupp beat him there doesn't mean he would've beaten him today.
Maybe not won, but could have gone out balls-to-the-wall and impressed everyone in the first part of the race and then faded like so many high schoolers who go out like idiots.
Rupp showed up when it mattered in Rio. You gonna be mad about your inferiority as a human being and post hateful messages?

Rupp is probably better now as well.
I'm pretty sure NYCM isn't Rupp-certified so no, I doubt it.
Yes! And Al Sal in his PRIME would of won!

Not without his mask! Pollen levels in the city were 1.4/12! Much too high for Rupp's sensitive respiratory system.
I didn't see any hat stations today, so probably not.

The allergens were bothering Gheb out there. He kept blowing snot rockets out of his nose. He didn't need a pollen mask.
I can't wait to see what Rupp will do on full marathon fitness, full marathon training, and a course that is run in ideal conditions. We've not seen anything close to that, yet. Trials: The heat was terrible and he just did what he could to make sure he was top 3 until he got bored and decided to have a go. Olympics: Heat was terrible and he wasn't fully focused on the marathon and he still podiumed.
I'm not saying the man is going to run 2:01, but I really think he could run a sub 2:05 and challenge Ryan Hall's AR.
