We get about 150.
Growing up we got 300+ as it was the only suburban development around.
In my current neighborhood there are a lot of foreigners. It's crazy to see some houses that don't understand the holiday. The have the porch light on and answer the door each time the kids knock to tell them they don't have candy. Just turn off the lights and don't answer!
Tonight we had 587. No "Portland" boost at all (most actually get way less than 50). This particular street just has a lot of reasons why kids come from miles around to get there.
What would I have to gain by lying on Letsrun about how many Trick or treaters I had?
No idea. They never get down into the basement.
I had 12 in the 90 minutes i gave out candy. I shut it down at 8pm because it had been 25 minutes without a single kid. i live in a city of 110,000 but I live near a retirement community so it isn't ideal for trick or treaters.
Not lying. Perhaps not counting as accurately as you think? Studies show that people are very and at estimating most things. So I wonder if that is a factor.
The trick-or-treat time frame is usually 6:00 - 8:00
We had a steady steam of kids starting before 6 and we ran out of candy at 7:30 and shut it down.
500+. Every year we say "this is the last year we are doing it because adults in costumes expecting candy and boys with no costumes takes the joys out of it.
zero, I live in the mountains on 16 acres, kids to lazy to come up here.
I had a whopping TWO stop by last night, but I shut down my operation at 8:30 (always quit before the big kids come out).
I've maybe had 2 or 3 since 2002. I'm just not in a big trick or treat area.
I'd estimate 20 or less. I wasn't keeping count but it seemed alot less than last year even though the weather was ideal last night.
Appx 50, with all but 5 before 8 pm. Live in a Midwest US suburban neighborhood that has a moderate amount of younger kids.
However, house location and street grid (near a corner on a busier street with a "short" block, with houses more interrupted by intersections) makes our section less desirable than some of the nearby "long," less-disrupted streets.
Zero.
But I did find it a great time to go to Target and the grocery store. No one on the main roads and no crowds at the stores. Putting this one down as a "remember this for next year" type thing.
White people aren't having children anymore. Barely replacement levels.
Over 600 kids last night and each of the last three years, midwestern city of 115,000. We live in a historic neighborhood with a reputation for going all out for holidays. Last night we gave out:
450 bite size candy bars
90 full size candy bars
15 two liter bottles of soda
4 full packages of Snack Pack pudding
2 containers of cake frosting
1 full package of Oreos
1 can of Pringles
1 box of Capn Crunch
Started at 5:30p, shut it down at 7:30 after handing out everything we bought and some of the candy our own kids collected trick or treating. Had another 100 or so kids walk by after we shut the lights off. Weather was amazing, so numbers held steady even though it was a school night. Kids just started a bit earlier and didn't stay out as late.
densists? dentists? densest. what do you mean?

I don't think you get 700. I live in a city of 3 million, in one of its richest and densists neighbourhoods (also one that totally embraces Halloween) and no way we get 400 even.
I have been to Portland, and I can't see it at all.
One.
College town, many on our street are student renters including us.
I was trying to be a good neighbor.
150
4.5 kids this year.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
