You know a 2:55 marathoner has to be on LR. I want to hear from him and how he got into 'joggling'.
Hey, yeah, I'm the joggler guy. I started doing this running while juggling thing back in 2005, partly as a fun way to raise money for charity but also because it was a perfect running metaphor for my life at the time, working three jobs and taking care of two young kids.
I was going to do one and be done with it, but ended up having to defend my record several times before I set the current mark, at which point I became addicted to it.
As a fan of proper running, I realize it's a sideshow to the real race, but I enjoy it, people are entertained by it, and I run off to the side away from other runners so there are no safety concerns. It could be considered pointless, but so too could any sport, really. And for the record, the no-drop 2:55 in Chicago was really, really difficult! More painful than my regular marathon PR.
