Going 5:10 pace? That sucks.

Thank you Rojo - working now!
men race is embarrassingly slow.
Looks like strong headwind. That yellow police tape at 35 minutes in was really blowing horizontally in the wind.
So Estrada tripped on someone else's bottle. That's why he went down. But he's caught back up to the leaders now.
We have our first sub-5:00 mile! Mile 7 is 4:59. Men are still only on 2:14 pace though.

Nope. Only 7 mph breeze. Flat, 55F, sea level, only 7 mph.
I wonder how this link is getting all these splits?
Is every mile AND km marked on the course and how is this german website getting the time feedback for these 68 splits?
Seems like NBC should provide this info as a sidebar on the screen maybe on the left side or something.
Connor McMillan, age 20 from Provo UTAH (BYU?) is in the top 25. Is he no longer running in college?

Are you related to melindi elmore? a male version that ran 345?
I'm standing at mile 9. Definitely a headwind. will be a tailwind later tho.

Sean Hartnett helps at virtually all WMM with this stuff. He's in the lead truck. Wh others don't use it is beyond me.
Which broadcast are people watching?
I keep switching back and forth.

Wave for the tv camera in a minute. I have a personal theory that only 3 people post on letsrun, but under 100s of different names.
I've never seen someone swerve across the road as dramatically as Abayneh Ayele just did to try to shake Gideon Kipketer. It didn't work and he may end up rueing that decision. The pack caught back up and he just wasted energy and they're not even at 10 miles yet.

Hahaa..

I'm watching NBCSN
Here is allegedly video of Estrada going down but it's not playing for me.

They are on 2:13 pace at mile 8.
distance split last km/mi
1 mi 5:07 5:07
2 mi 10:21 5:14
3 mi 15:31 5:10
4 mi 20:42 5:11
5 mi 25:50:00 5:08
6 mi 30:56:00 5:07
7 mi 35:56:00 4:59
8 mi 40:50:00 4:54
The pace is shameful. All appearance fees should be revoked.
Worth noting that Tsegaye Kebede has no splits listed and I haven't seen him on race broadcast at all. Looks like the 2012 Chicago champ is a DNS.

Why does their clock say 12:55? They have been running for 49 minutes.
