The 180 myth is ridiculous.
Rob Young takes 20 steps/minute at 5:40 pace, but he is beyond even elite.

I timed Filbert Bayi at 160 spm running 6 minute pace after his 3:53 mile in Jamaica, and obtained similar results for other elite runners at that pace.
Stride rate is highly dependent on pace. The faster the pace, the higher the rate.
It would be unusual for any top runner to take 180 spm at a 6 to 7 minute mile pace. Hobby joggers yes, but they won't be running much faster then that.
please go back to the hobby jogger forums!!!!
That's a good rate actually wrote:

Anyone who rates 180 spm at a 6 to 7:30 mile pace is definitely a hobby jogger.
Jim already laid down a 20 miler at sub 6 pace with 1198 feet of ascent:

Guy is simply a machine! How does he recover so fast?

Literally? He "Literally" won't exceed. Is there some other way to Not Exceed? Your inability to even use the word "literally" correctly means I'm allowed to discount Everything you say. Dumb dork.
Cadence 163?

I've heard Walmsley is a pretty tall guy - perhaps this is the key to his high speed and low cadence? Dude has a stride.
It was worth clicking that link just to find out there is a "Wet Beaver Wilderness Area". No wonder he was so motivated.

True.
He's great in training.
