nope, here it's definitely Mormans.

the same runner also ran Houston 2016 and ran a 2:32:57 flat marathon course.

my man your clearly from Utah otherwise you would not be so butthurt over this. you also talk aobut usa champs races and sub-elites which no one hunting for a bq talks about. only sub elites talk about that. so you are a sub elite from Utah who did not race saint George and probably never have. so that means you are one of about four possible people. why not come out and let us all know youre true identity instead of hiding behind a computer screen?

Please learn when to use "your" vs "you're"
As an added note I've enjoyed the posts by Calling It, and, if anything, *your* post sounds a bit butthurt.

hahaha.....can't help but laughing.. I'm pretty sure there aren't any "major rules" on letsrun.com.
Nah mister grammer police just wondering who the salty dude.

My calculations have the course being close to 4 minutes faster. The first 7 miles drops 700 ft but starts at 5200 which negates some of the advantage. Should be able to run 10 seconds/mile for that stretch. Next 7 miles is gradual up and down so there is no advantage or disadvantage. Last 11 miles avg. about a 3% drop. This should give 15 seconds per mile or 165 seconds. That adds up to 235 seconds or just under 4 minutes.
Another way to look at this is the JK rule of thumb, that a course is 1.74 seconds faster per 10 feet of net elevation drop. For this course, that comes out to about a 4.5 minute advantage. Now, the fact that you aren't at sea level will negate some of that advantage.

I'm just a jealous hobby jogger who will miss running Boston because of these clowns. It's just not fair! Nice try though.

you still don't make that sort of jump regardless...and it was not driving wind and rain - i had several buddies run it and you can look at the photos and see it wasn't...http://www.marathonfoto.com/Catalog/List/257497208?PIN=J9E250&LastName=COOK AND
http://www.marathonfoto.com/Catalog/List/257883349?PIN=J9E250&LastName=COOKit was raining some and windy but not what you are making it out to be.
Who were your "buddies" that ran it? Ogden Airport registered headwind of anywhere from 12-17 mph with gusts up to 35 mph from 50 minutes (8:05 a.m.) into the marathon until 2:07 pm (and it was worse up the canyon with the funnel effect). So that covered the entire field of runners. No one that ran that race would say it wasn't that bad. LMFAO that you think you can tell weather, especially wind, conditions from a photo. Look up facts next time before running your mouth. These took me five minutes to compile (also I love how you cherrypicked the finish photos, the only ones that don't show driving rain):

With all that being said, I agree St George is a really fast marathon. It has to be right? 2,500 feet of drop? Like 4-5 minutes fast. I have no problem with you guys saying the St George elites ran "fake" times, sure add five minutes to it and call it good. But I can't let you try to say it's 10 minutes faster than Ogden (on an average Ogden weather day)! That's just the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'm surprised Cook "only" ran 10 minutes faster at St George with how bad Ogden was this year, he must be less fit.
Here's what the top Ogden runners have done since then:
Cook 2:16 STG (2:25 Ogden = 9 minutes faster)
Richardson 2:29 Top of Utah (2:42 Ogden = 13 minutes faster)
Peterson 2:38 Top of Utah (2:50 Ogden = 12 minutes faster)
Nelson 2:27 STG (2:55 OGden = 28 minutes faster)
Perish (female) 2:49 STG (3:00 Ogden = 11 minutes faster)
Other top Ogden runners Jensen, Costales, and Van Beekum and Fowler (female) all DNF with hypothermic symptoms. Jensen 2:16 at STG, Costales 2:24 at UV (and previously 2:17 at CIM) & VAn Beekum 2:23 at STG.
Ogden was BRUTAL this year! And Cook had the least improvement from Ogden to the next race, 9 minutes. Top of Utah and Ogden have similar elevation drops, so Top of Utah is a good measure of what Ogden times should've been. Unfortunately we only have the two elite runner data points. But looks like 12 minutes and even if you think that's aggressive; no one would deny Ogden was 5-7 minutes slower this year. So, you're trying to say he took a "jump" when really he probably regressed.
But I do want to know who your buddies are. I'd love to meet someone who ran that marathon and says it wasn't driving rain and wind. It'd be like meeting the Easter Bunny, an imaginary friend!
I didn't read that whole long-winded post of yours and I don't really care about whatever you are all talking about. Not sure why I even clicked on this thread.
That said, I just wanted to let you know that you are seriously pathetic for researching all of that and typing it up here.
It's worth noting that Riley just ran 2:17:18 at CIM this weekend to OTQ for the first time at age 41 (and blew up to a 2:20:23 while attempting to OTQ for 2020 trials at 2019 Boston). Comparing other top Utah runners' times at St George vs fair courses, St George is probably 2 1/2 min aided for runners like this on the cusp of elite/sub-elite.
