Sage literally just puts out YouTube videos of his training, racing, and thoughts on the sport. That's it. He shares both his good days and bad days and admits when he's done poorly or made stupid training decisions. It's not like he's some ego-driven tool who's on YouTube just to see his own face.
And LOL at these comments pretending Sage is now some hobby jogger. He's still a 2:20 guy in the marathon, which puts him in the top few hundred men in the US. Call me crazy, but in a sport where millions of guys lace up their shoes every year, a guy who runs a 2:20 marathon isn't exactly your average Joe.

Good points. Let's run nit picking goofs are legends in their own minds. They are has been runners pretending to be authorities on the sport. After all, it is much easier to beat other runners with a keyboard, on the internet hiding behind an alias.
And no I am not a sage fanboy. I think I have watched a couple of his vids in 10 years. But the ones I saw were good and free.

Unfortunately...Sage has a marathon PR that is slower than every single poster (total number of posters at this forum= 5.865) at this forum.
The .865 is for jamin…since he is not quite a whole human being…yet.
We are all still waiting for jamin to get up to 1.0 (with a plus or minus 0.05 margin of error).
I think we will be waiting until the universe ends... and time stops.

These threads are predictable. This is what happens when someone comes on and self promotes under several different handles. This board has a strange way of sniffing it out.

Sad to see such bad feelings towards a guy like Sage who simply loves the world and life of running and is out there trying to help others at all levels.
I found his videos absolutely great for helping me prepare for my first marathon which I managed to complete in 2:53 after years out of the sport. I feel I actually owe a litle of this to Sage and picked up his suggestions of 2-mile repeats, 5K repeats and his continued focus on 'not getting injured' which is always good advice and sometimes easy to forget when you start grinding out those miles.
His videos really were a great thing to watch after a hard workout with an IPA in hand. I actually found some of his goofyness funny and it makes his videos more interesting and fun to watch - seems like the guy just enjoys life and what he's doing so good on him.
Oh and I think Sandy is very cute so seems like Sage is sorted in many ways!

Please give us the record of Sage versus top un-mountain/ultra guys. That above list doesn't give a good reference point regarding ability. It is like telling us how he compares to a darts player when we want to know how he compares to the Olympic champion javelin thrower.
Only a couple of good runners (Kilian Jornet, Max King) in a list of ultrajoggers.
Sage is a clever guy, he knows how to make a living & get money from a sponsor even if he is not a competitive athlete in any major race.
Videos and words is all he need.
