Four years ago I developed Achilles tendinitis (or whatever) on my right side. I had about 7 Graston sessions over several weeks which completely cleared it up. I was a happy man.
Fast forward to today and I've been sidelined for almost 5 months because of my left Achilles. Again I have been having Graston treatments, but this one is much slower to respond. Ice and rest have helped to improve things, but I'm still not able to jog much more than a mile every few days. I'm not so happy.
I'm paying close attention to this thread. Thanks for all of the good information.
I've had achilles pain for 2 1/2 years and tried Graston for about 5 months last year and found nothing changed. I had an ultrasound done (diagnosed with insertional achilles tendinopathy) and based on this the physio had me doing the Alfredson protocol instead. 4 months later and I am running 3 times per week and feeling pretty good (I started running again 3 weeks ago). I'm still aware of the injury, but I used to feel it all the time (lying in bed, etc). I do 3 x15 reps 2 x per day with both straight leg and bent. I know it's going to take a while to get back to my usual training but feel hopeful for the first time in a long time. Good luck to you.
