absolutely 100% lagat. That's what has accounted for his incredible range
Venuste Niyongabo. 1996 gold 5K. One writer described his running style as "like water flowing down a river."

This would be my vote if Bekele's same form didn't translate to road and cross country. I know that's not a criteria in the question, and we can *assume* Lagat's form would have held up under those rigors, but Bekele's is demonstrably suitable for all. And dominant. A lot of people (even Hermens..?) speculated that Bekele's powerful, poppy form wouldn't be suitable for the road, but it hasn't been a disaster...
Kipchoge is a close-behind these two men. He's got cross prowess too if memory serves. As already mentioned, his performance late in the London 'thon was absolutely sublime.
Farah's stride is too long. It gets him and others in trouble. He isn't 6'2" like Rudisha, no reason for a 2 meter stride.
+
Rudisha
Juantorena
Lagat
Joe Mother Fvcking Falcon
-
Nijel Amos
Mark Everrett
Semenya
Have to say Coe although they had to work on it, some of the others mentioned like Rudisha may not have?
One of these two guys, holding up their forms pretty well considering it's the final 100m of the 1500m Olympic final. Probably the one who won.
No votes for this guy?

think I've seen Kipketer's name mentioned once here. Scandalous! As smooth a runner as you could ever hope to see
I would say Bekele, but his form has led to injury problems over the past few years. In that case, Kipchoge has the best form, as he has been very successful in both 5k and marathon, with few if any injury problems.
Surprised no one mentioned Noah Ngeny. Go watch his races against El G. His form is way better.
The Best Form WITHOUT A DOUBT was LUKAS VERZBICAS.... go ahead. argue all you want. but you cannot deny that he truly had the best form of all time.
Best ever - Lagat
My favorite - Hall circa 2007 trials
Honorable mention - I always liked Martin Lel's stride

I won't quite say "best form ever", but certainly very good and a crying shame what happened to him.
https://youtu.be/VHxCzlTUM6I?t=11m13sAnd here's my vote, with video:
Lasse Viren had pretty good form. His form did not change whether running 65 second quarters or a 55 second last lap.
Carlos Lopes
Bo Derek was a "perfect 10"
Me. I have the best form ever. And I can vary between different efficient running forms.

Interesting article, it's all about efficiency. But I would say their claims that he is clean because his hematocrit is only 43.7 is a nonsense. It could a sign of dilution in proportion to increased volume. It might only be 40 or so without microdosing. Interesting though.
