Dude should have given up football! Torn ACL! Bottom line he wasn't even that good.

He was good enough to get an NFL contract, even if it would be largely on the basis of his speed and athleticism.
Not any more, two torn ACL's. Brutal.
"Oregon wide receiver and 2016 100-meter hurdle Olympian Devon Allen suffered his second season-ending ACL tear in three seasons."
How was he able to compete in a woman's event at the Olympics?
Devon should go back home and train at Altis World fulltime. He can take online courses and finish his Math degree.

He was fine after the first one. Hopefully he's okay and obviously this is a big cause of concern but don't call him dead in the water yet.
Thomas Davis of the Carolina Panthers is on ACL repair #3 all on the same knee. The surgery has gotten better or so it seems.

Have you watched him play football? Maybe not NFL caliber, but as a college player he was dynamic.
He was not going to be a Pro Football player.
Ken Goe got a ton negative comments from football fans for saying this:
http://www.oregonlive.com/collegefootball/index.ssf/2016/09/monday_morning_news_notes_link_38.htmlI don't how badly Oregon receiver Devon Allen is hurt. I hope it's not serious, because Allen is a world-class 110-meter hurdler.
He could be great on the track for a long time. He could win the Olympic gold medal in 2020.
So it's time to end this flirtation with disaster as a football player. Allen already has been hurt once, tearing his right ACL returning a kickoff in the 2015 Rose Bowl. That cost him the 2015 track season.
Hopefully the injury he suffered on Saturday against Nebraska won't end his track career.
Assuming it doesn't, it's time for Allen to cut his losses, say goodbye to football and start preparing for the track season.
Being on LRC I'm obviously biased toward track, but it seems like a waste to me for Allen to risk what could be a great career as a hurdler for a career as yet another college football player who just gets ground up and spit out.
I agree that he should focus on track, but can't fault him for trying.
The minimum salary for NFL is $435,000
Only 20% of top 10 USA track athletes make over $50k.

The fact that he also plays football was mentioned every time I saw him run during both the trails and the olympics. I think football helps his popularity and potential sponsorships in track.

I agree. Stefan Diggs broke his leg a couple of times in college and has had a tremendous impact in his first two seasons. I would imagine that Allen will continue to pursue this football thing.

Who?
Obviously Shooter missed the Sunday Night NFL game where Diggs roasted the Pack.

He's from Oregon
Wow, everyone on LRC is in love with this guy.
He is a consistent 13.1x hurdler.
That will keep him diamond league and big meets.
But unless there is some big jump in performance, he's not winning much.
There are too many guys a little better.
If he loves football, go for it.
If Allen would have had even close to his PR in the Olympic he would have won gold instead of taken 5th. 3 time NCAA Champ 2 time U.S. Champ Allen is a beast :) Get well soon Mr Allen and GO DUCKS
If you noticed all his races prior to the Olympics he was very clean over the hurdles, but all the way through the rounds into the final he came into contact with nearly every hurdle. My guess is he succumbed to nerves a little bit and it threw off his hurdling technique and thus slowed him down. He would have won if his races were like all his previous ones.
If he can get sub 13 he can have a long prosperous career hurdling, but if he likes football then why not pursue it. Kinda reminds me of some of the U.K. guys who couldn't decide between sprints and football and never really reached their potential in either.

So IF he gets drafted that's 140K a year for 3 years? And highly doubt he gets another contract
Don't tell me he couldn't make 100K+ a year for 10 years as a world class hurdler.
.
NFL Minimum salary is per year, so $435x 3 seasons = $1.3M
