Have you seen this?

FloTrack was a real grassroots voice when it came up, then they got this venture capital money and you could see the passion kind of leave for more of this move towards ad clicks and where suddenly every race has to be Chris Solinsky’s Stanford 10k.
So so good: Exclusive Q&A interview with masterminds behind DumbFloTrack twitter account

At least flotrack has the balls to identify themselves, and to not post links about their own stuff on letsrun for publicity.

Ok, Dennis
-
Oh yeah? Well, they just got another follower. That's right, me.

What are you talking about?
Back in flotrack's early days, we realized they were repeatedly posting links on the forum to their stories and told them to stop. They lied about it when we had proof they were doing it. So it's pretty much the exact opposite of what you are saying. -

He's claiming that the OP is the users behind the DumbFlo twitter account -
FloTrack isn't dead? USATF has to put a stop to that. They can't have any competition.

God damn rojo, that one went right over your head.

Flotrack has been ruined by millennials. The website was great back in the days of Ryan and Alex. The new guys are awful commentators. This interview with DumbFlotrack touches on this point. Flotrack is more focused on writing outrageous articles, "hot takes", and focusing on getting clicks than putting out quality content.

I thought they nailed this Symmond's interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsnESYMT6qM

I eventually got tired of dumbflo and u unfollowed them. They had some clever tweets, it just got old after a while, kind I'd like their point about RW always being the same.
They are spot on about the beer mile though. -
I visit Blotrack about once every 6 months. The place is garbage.
Not that Letsrun is all that great. If someone could create a halfway decent site I'd be there in a second. -
In all seriousness, whether you like dumbflotrack or not there is significant value in having an independent but popular voice that is satirical/critical of whatever passes for "journalism" in our sport.
Flotrack is a perfect example of the kind of media you get when there's no competition to force you to produce quality content. And much in the same way that LRC openly questioning behavior of organizations like USATF/Nike/the NCAA, even if you don't always agree with the positions that are taken, having some measure of accountability is always a good thing.
And yeah, the account is mostly just silly comedy, but 9k followers is nothing to sneeze at in the running world and it's better than Flotrack spewing out poorly researched, typo-filled clickbait for $20/month without anyone calling them on their sh*t.
As someone who loves the sport, I want to support and love anyone who dedicates resources to covering and popularizing the sport, whether it's LRC, Flotrack, or whoever. And I do believe Flotrack plays an important role, particularly for NCAA-level coverage that gets little to no love anywhere else. But it's also because of that appreciation that I want to hold the media I consume to higher standards, rather than just visiting the only game in town by default.
Keep it up, dumbflo. We need more like you. -

100% agree. Couldn't have said it better myself. The only thing I would add is their lack of professionalism as well. -

Steeplechase is for guys who can't hack the 5000. -
Yeah, Jager proved that when he made Worlds at 5000 first. And then ran 13:02.
