All this blazing fast running so soon after Rio by guys who tanked there. No way would ALL of them have been beat by the likes of, say, a 50.xx to close 3:50. Any of them can do that.

100F? The high of the day was 94. The race was run in the evening in a completely enclosed stadium. So how was it 100F?

Where do you get your weather data from, Hades.com? Did the Omega display on the grass near the middle of the homestretch ever read above 30C (86F) during the meet?

Why do you keep saying it was hot "trackside"? It wasn't. The meat of the meet was scheduled after sunset. The conditions were great for running, hence, runners ran really fast! Go figure?

The guy left it all on the track, unfortunately looking back in the homestretch probably cost him the sub 7:30.

Yesterday's race just makes me mad at how Ethiopia selects their team every year. They need to simply have a trials race. If they aren't going to have a Trials,, then just use selectors to pick the team.

Doing what they do now - which is pick the fastest guys on the year is so stupid.

I mean Kejelcha is amazing. He was world indoor champ. He's a teenager. He's been running well all year and somehow he wasn't on their team.

Kendra Harrison was not on the US team and she broke the world record soon after the trials.

I have a hard time believing he is 19. If he really is, after a few more years of training he should be close to the WR.

It is crazy he wasn't on the Olympic team.
