Yeah, I love Bernard Lagat and am happy to see him with another medal. But just the picture of these old out-of-touch officials who know nothing about racing sitting there being sticklers and taking away athletes' culminating moments is pissing me off. there needs to be some common sense used. wtf.
this whole RIO games have been ridiculous in terms of the number and logic behind the DQ's. I don't know any of the athletes personally yet I'm getting worked up. can you imagine the DQ'd athletes who are DQ'd based on some "rough" racing?

Agree. Have there ever been so many DQs in Olympic Track finals? This is ridiculous. I mean Rio is a lawless hell-hole, why are they so hell bent on enforcing the "law" on the track?
DQs are ridiculous.
All the 5k DQs have been reversed.

Does anyone have insight into why there have been all these questionable and ridiculous DQs and overturns? Did Rio just hire an awful head official?
Amen. THis is a mucking joke. Never seen so many DQs.
I would call this "the little bitch Olympics". Never have I seen so many babies calling foul. What ever happened to "let the chips fall where they may?

Kemboi didn't run the 5000m however rojo is still wrong as Edris is still a dq.
After reading about all the DQs I expected to see an MMA-style fight breakout in the final stages of the race. Instead I saw...nothing. WTF is wrong with the officials at these games? Are they blind? Chelimo did appear to possibly push Mo Ahmed in the back stretch of the last lap but it looked pretty minor. I still don't see why Edris was DQ'd. This is pathetic officiating. Did the games hire USTAF officials? Because that could explain phantom DQs (ala Grunwald and Bumbalough[sic] from a few years back].
