Feel bad for him. But at 34, how much could he have left in the tank?

He is far from devastated. He was very happy with his 100m silver. He knows it doesn't last forever and he has made peace with his mortality. He will run another year or two but knows his performances will taper. He goes home to raise his young son, not to post bitter messages like the "Has been who never was" who started this thread.
Gat surprised me with the way he handled himself the past week. Finally he has come of age and got the wisdom to go with that. He came across as a mature and realistic sportsman, more so than I've ever seen him.
And to be honest: winning a 100m silver after a sh*tty winter behind someone who's unbeatable is not too shabby.
He misjudged his semi in the deuce and got run out of it: shit happens.
I can't see why he shouldn't be able to medal in London in the 100. It's not like the rest is running out of this world times, from the young up and comers only DeGrasse is better than him and there's not really a new generation overtaking Gatlin. Next year a 9.8 is good for at least bronze. And if Bolt decides to call it quits and Gat gets a good winter, anything is possible.
he lost like a newbie.
karma came back.
Are you serious?
When the US swimmer were outspoken (particularly Lily King, I think) against dopers and cheaters last week, Gatlin responded with: "Lily King? Never heard of her." She only talked the talk, AND walked the walk.
Doping is bad, yes. And you reap what you sow, so you must deal with the flak. But being a jackass when people question you about it makes me glad you didn't make the finals of the 200m. I'm an embarrassed that he represents my country. I'm glad he lost.

What a surprise.
Doper Merritt and doper Degrasse move on, and the king Usain Bolt looks to defend his title.
As letsrun will insinuate, the only "clean" sprinters in the finals are Lemaitre because he's white, and Gemili, as many letsrun posters here have welcomed as a honorary white guy, even though not sure how his Iranian and Moroccan parents feel about that.
Also Churandy Martina has a good chance of being very clean, since he's competing for the same country as Dafne
I've never seen the LRC seriously insinuate that people are clean simply because they're white. Have you not seen the countless threads condemning Rupp for alleged doping?
Are you one of those people that thinks America is still innately racist? If you are, please wake up... please...
For real though... please.

A win for clean sport!
So tell me if Gatlin is so dirty, how does Bolt always beat him so easily? Answer: Bolt is dirty as well. Far from a clean win when Bolt and everyone else is clearly dirty.

Could of? Good god, how freaking stupid can you possibly be? Just because the contraction "could've" SOUNDS like "could of" gives you NO excuse for not knowing that the actual non-contracted phrase is "could have."
I hate going all grammar police on a message board but, my freaking god, some mistakes are simply beyond comprehension.
gatlin is the brojos' second favorite drug cheat after the doping cheater bobblehead radcliffe

Look at all the recent photos of Bolt. Gap in the middle of his two top front teeth and gaps on the rear sides. He didn't have those before. The two things that do that: HGH and IGF-1 LR3 (the stuff A Duck was always ranting about). We know how HGH works. Here is how IGF-1 LR3 works:
