Looked to me like he eased up a little near the end when he looked sideways. When he realized he couldn't just cruise in to qualify, it was too late.
You know what? They've been showing video of him after the race and he reacted like a true sportsman would. He even smiled and congratulated the guy who finished 2nd in his heat. Other than the 2nd positive test, Gatlin seems like a pretty classy guy. If you guys really want to revel in this, that's on you.

I personally like Gatlin far more than a lot of the "clean crusaders". Pot calling the kettle black. at least Gatlin has done his time, and isn't pointing fingers. Just focused on himself and his performance. Unlike many "clean" athletes who cry dope cheats when they themselves are strung out on PEDs.
I just dislike these cocky runners who have to "ease up" and look around to see how far ahead they are. This time he got burnt, so yeah I am going to revel in this.

As letsrun will insinuate, the only "clean" sprinters in the finals are Lemaitre because he's white, and Gemili, as many letsrun posters here have welcomed as a honorary white guy, even though not sure how his Iranian and Moroccan parents feel about that.
Also Churandy Martina has a good chance of being very clean, since he's competing for the same country as Dafne

Plenty is right. I don't want to go as far as say all 8 of them, but Degrasse and Merritt are sure 100 percent bet as dopers, I'd like to think Gemili is clean but the Brits aren't exactly that trustworthy when it comes to PEDs, so Martina from the Netherlands might be the only clean fellow out of the 8.
