Has anyone owned a particular model that has lasted more than a year or two?
I've been using a Garmin 210, which I bought because it's a less expensive, more stripped down, more comfortable model with real buttons. I was just fine with its basic features, and would have been happy to use it forever, but it has gradually been working more and more poorly, to the point where it now shuts itself off regularly during use. This is particularly frustrating in the middle of a hard workout.
Anyway, doing some research this morning, checking out other brands and other models, it seems that all of them had at least some negative reviews that said similar things, like: it just stopped working, or it didn't last long, etc. etc.
I still don't need many features, but I would be willing to pay a little more for a watch that wouldn't need to be replaced as often.
