She's way too inconsistent to be a doper honestly. She was bronze 7 years ago but got wrecked at Prefontaine and hasn't been as close to Simpson this year as she usually has been...although she has run 1:59 this year. I could see Shannon being like 5th at the most, and Jenny could maybe grab bronze. Nobody really knows how fit Dibaba is cause she ran 3:59 in Barcelona but hasn't done anything else really.

If you insist on keeping this sentence in your article please clarify that Shannon has had no association with Mary Decker-Slaney or Regina Jacobs or their coaches. Along with that please clarify the fact that the alligations made by disgruntled former athletes and employees of Nike's Oregon Project related to a time previous to Shannon's move to that group and that Shannon has not been accused of any wrongdoing nor failed any drug tests.
By the association of Shannon with these unrelated incidents you are in fact calling her a drug cheat, no matter how you attempt to veil it. You liken the Aden case to the alegations made against the NOP. The two are substantially different. Dibaba was housed in the same hotel at the time of the raid which uncovered PEDs whereas Shannon was not to join the NOP for years after the incidents that the NOP is being accused of.

The bit you added wasn't as atrocious like some are arguing, but I think it reads as if Dibaba and Rowbury are similarly likely to be dirty and that's misleading. The whole NOP case was focused almost exclusively around Salazar and Rupp. To include Rowbury in that would be no different than saying the Gouchers might have doped because of their relation with Salazar.
You've interpreted the evidence against both coaches to be similarly damning (a stance which i think most would disagree with), but even so Dibaba is clearly more involved in the Aden case than Rowbury was in the Salazar case. DIBABA WAS PRESENT AT THE BUST! It makes no sense to afford her the same degree of separation as Rowbury - two very different situations in terms of involvement.
I think the added bit about Slayney and Decker was sufficient on its own. The second part wasn't needed and sounded more like something you wanted to write and not something the article needed.
