I'm frustrated because I went to visit OP's mom last night and apparently her bedroom has become a PokeStop. There were five guys in there all looking for a Squirtle.

They are laying in wait until some white comes along is distracted with the game, then BAM ASSAULTING AND ROBBING THE geeky white! They know you at least have a cell-phone/most likely a wallet. Or just assaulting whitey for fun!

THE REAL NIGHTMARE OF ALL OF THIS IS THAT THE GAME OPENS YOUR CAMERA UP DURING THE GAME AND GOOGLE IS RECORDING AND SAVING THE ENTIRE INSIDE OF YOUR HOUSE OR WHEREVER ELSE YOU ARE PLAYING. GOOGLE MAPS LOVES YOU! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW1qPP0snF4
The game isn't played indoors, so that point is moot. You can shut off Google's access to your account if you want. If you don't believe Google would honor that request, and would secretly record you anyway, then they don't need Pokemon to get to you.

Show me a state champ anywhere in the country who ran over 18 minutes for 5k in the past year. I'll be waiting.
Well......we're waiting.

As a former state champ, 4:25/9:30 2 miler who's been slothing for the past 4 years, this is great for getting me out of the house. I installed today, and got to lvl 7, my highest CP is ~150'ish (pretty bad i know). I've read 12-15 articles today on optimal playing, and will be hopefully taking over my church's/gym's within the week. I biked maybe 5-6 miles at least today, in spurts of interval training, and my everything is burning: quad/thighs...etc
you old timers should try it out, it'll get you up and in shape.
Anyone else obsessed now? i'm 25 for reference, and it's nice to burn time while i wait on employers to get back to me.
I'm a state champ as well, 4:24/9:29. Just wanted to point that out since I was one second faster in both events.
But yes, PoGo is fun. I have started riding my bike more with my four and two year old in the trailer. I have the four year old watching the phone and if we come upon a Pokemon we stop and catch it.
Pokemon Go. Very, very popular with those who majored in history, theatre and sociology in college. They are the ones who are advancing far in the game because they can play it 24/7 due to not having a job like the rest of the world.

You keep slaving away 50+ hours a week at your dead end job.
Whether you work or don't work, at the end of your life you die.

You're an idiot.
http://ms.milesplit.com/meets/218999/results/413101/formatted#.V4egyI-cGP8And that's the AA meet. The A meet was won in over 20 minutes. Some of our states are small, have bad distance running in general, and have way too many class divisions. Get over yourself.
I've seen state meet 3200s won in 11:30, 1600s over 5:10. That happens pretty much every year in these small divisions.

I don't play it, never will and time will tell if it's a fad. However, it seems pretty obvious to me that this is one of the most significant life changing internet creations ever, on the scale of twitter and facebook. I was outside yesterday in a crowded area and all I could see were kids and adults holding there phones out and wandering around looking for something.

I looked this up for a thread about a month ago and found one, but as I wouldn't then and I won't now, I will not post a link because I don't want to disparage a specific person. You have to realize that states have many divisions and each winner from a state division is a state champion. There are states in this country with very small schools that end up running in a state championship race (some states simply have too many divisions), and the winner can sometimes be very very slow. You are wrong to be suspect here.

Ah yes. Good example. That's even slower than I had seen, but this does not surprise me. Being a state champion just doesn't mean a thing in and of itself. Even for times that are more reasonable, you can find roster bios of college runners, and it will say something like "Dave was the 3200 state champion in his junior and senior years", and then you check the times and they were 9:41 and 9:32. Ok times, but those times don't get you out of Regionals or even Districts in many states and divisions.

“I was shocked by the murder†said the medical examiner at the scene, “not only because the kid murdered his own brother, but because he thought he deleted his Pokemon.
We later found out the kid had nothing but Ratatta’s and Pidgey’s. I would have understood if he had a Dragonite or Gyarados or something like that, but Jesus Christ, for a miserable Ratatta? As a matter of fact, I even caught a Ratatta at the sceneâ€.
The article's face bro. 2-3 incidents of mugging out of 4-5 million people? Seems like if you are playing pokemon Go, you are safer than normal..
