Yes. Please leave. And stay. And no need to write, or visit.

This is a great idea. There are so many little Greek girls who need the inspiration of Alexi Pappas.
Has anyone seen her movie? I know there was a premiere in Eugene recently. Can anyone separate the art from the artist and give an objective review, if it really actually sucked, or was just people projecting the Alexi-hate (albeit pretty justified) onto the film?
So she ends up having to get 6 stiches on her leg/knee and you bozos still bash her. She should have just stopped and gotten medical attention, but she finished. What an inspiration. A lot of you beta cucks would have fell to the side of the track and cried like Craig Lutz during NCAA XC 2012 Championships.
If that's true, then gutsy running and good for her. Falls are unfortunate, but hopefully she'll have better luck in Rio. She's clearly fit, talented and tough.
To be fair, I think what really irks people about her is her constant self-promotion off the track and her self-consciously twee persona. Somehow it's so different and "out there," that someone can be both an athlete and an artist, but I bet there are plenty of elites who also have artistic pursuits (Shannon R is also a filmmaker, I think, or an aspiring one), or at least cool, non-running related pursuits, so I don't think she's as crazy-unique as she always advertises herself. The others just don't self-promote like she does. That Obama article she wrote was also pretty pointless and narcissistic.
Of course, that's no reason for the amount of fire-breathing enmity she sparks on these boards, but I can understand where it's coming from.

Describe her narcissistic personality. What are you talking about, exactly? Use your words.
"I like to keep my running career and film career both elevated to a world class level."
Honey, until you win Academy Awards (let alone produce a film outside of a film student festival) you ain't world class. Your running isn't really world class either but close enough, I'll let it slide.

LOL, "beta cucks." You're the white knight defending her.
Maybe she should have gotten medical attention and saved face. It's generous to say she was really "racing" that thing.
Yeah, Alexi Pappas should just keep quiet and quit trying to excel at anything. I'm so mad that she's interesting and that people actually care about what she does. All that self promotion and 'success' is crap. Would be better if she sat at home silently with her BS Oregon 'national championship' ring and Ivy League degree. Then I'd finally be happy.
Until she quits running, stops pursuing art, ceases to have an opinion, and begins consulting me daily on how she should conduct herself, I'm going to continue to sit here and belittle her...for everything she does.
Hurumpf hurumpf hurumpf!

Don't forget, she did it all with a scraped knee! She's so brave! We should all adore her for her citizenship manipulating skills.
I went in eugene. It was horrible. 1st movie I ever got up and walked out of
Alexi got 6 stiches and had an MRI done to check for any Ligament damage. Thankfully it came back negative. Just some bruising.

She doesn't 'excel' at any of that crap.
And she basically has quit running and is phoning it in right now. I'm sure she'll inspire a generation of young Greek kids to pursue their running dreams though! (if she ever goes to Greece)

I didn't go, but had a friend who did and was thoroughly disappointed
You can back off from criticizing Meraf Bahta. She fled to Sweden in 2008 after being called up for military service in her homeland. Can't go blaming her for that. Lives and runs in Sweden, won Tjejmilen. For the benefit of our resident LRC Sweden Basher, EL Youknowwhoyouare:

Yes. "well known" doesn't *necessarily* (it could, it could not) mean interesting/talented/artistic/unique. It often just means: knows how to get noticed, loves/needs attention (i.e., attention whore).
I would Ms "poet" "artist" "movie maker" "super hair bun" Pappas more likely in that latter category.

Well cheer up, because she's not actually interesting and the large majority of people don't care what she does. I hope this makes you feel better.
