To anyone who says she was too close to the rail, she's on the outside of lane 1. There are multiple people closer to the rail than she was. You literally only have to see the picture.

She was too close to the rail even if she was on the outside of lane 1.

It's crazy to me how no one thinks Montano had a shot at the team or that she was 'done.' She ran 1:59.1 last year to WIN the U.S. Championships against a shoeless Wilson and (you guessed it) Brenda Martinez. The team WOULD HAVE been Grace, Montano, and Wilson this year. Just look at Martinez last year, flailing the last 50m while Montano stays controlled.
How many times have you ever seen a 800m runner go out too fast, get sucked up by a pack at 600m, and rallied? I can't think of any off the top of my head. Yes she picked up for about 50ms after getting passed. I expect that she would have died hard down the home stretch. Through in the weaving (she was leading the race and people were passing her on the inside, and the evidence suggests she was very fatigued.

What was clear is that Martinez stumbled and THEN Montano ran up on her. Unless you wanted to see something else, of course.
BMart was slowing down (due to stumbling) and Montano was accelerating. Montano wasn't expecting the person in front of her to slow down so suddenly. That's why she ran up the back of her.
I have watched it lots of times and it appears the left trailing leg of Martinez contacts either theright through leg of Montano or right through leg of Rogers. More likely the right through leg of Montano. This resulted in Martinez having to bring her left trailing leg through too soon and she stumbled forward losing balance, slowing down and Montano stumbled over her.
Well, that can't be true. Montano kept saying how she was pretty much in lane 3.
I've watched the sequence several times, and studied the video frame stills.
Starting the turn, Ajee is on the inside with Brenda on the outside of Lane 1...Rogers is running extremely close to Ajee, and Montano is several paces back.
1st contact is Rogers slightly clipping Ajee....Rogers realizes she is too close and starts to drift back...at the same time Montano starts aggressively moving up.
Everything is still clean at 1:35.3...at 1:35.4 Brenda's trail leg is clipped hard and starts to swing behind her into lane 2 (her trail leg looks to be more outside than Montano's lead leg...but its hard to tell if it was struck by Rogers or Montano).
At 1:35.5 (when the twitter shot was taken) Brenda's plant foot has come back down more inside than normal to recover from the clip....At this point, if Montano had drifted back a bit like Rogers did on the Ajee clip, everything probably would have been fine...but instead Montano keeps the pedal to the metal causing more and more contact until eventually falling.
Here's a race where the guy got sucked up by the pack earlier than 600m and rallied:

Notable in many ways but check out the crouch start with holes dug in the cinders, start/finish in the middle of the straightaway. Also German commentator talking out the "grosse schwarzen" (my German sucks so spelling may be wrong) namely Woodruff.
There are some disturbed people with a heart full of hate for Montano. It is sad.
What is curious after seeing that picture is Montano's claim, repeated ad nauseam in post race interviews, that she was running in Lane 3, clear of any other runner. Clear evidence here that she was in the inner part of lane 2. She was as much, or as little, to blame as any other runner in the race. You had half a dozen tired athletes running in a tight bunch; it would have been surprising if no runner had got badly impeded, jostled, stumbled. It's racing on the track, not a wide open road. Stuff happens.
The problem arises when you have an absolutely rigid, no exceptions, hard and fast rule that the first three in each event go to the Games.
Here is what happened;
1- Montano surged forward right into Martinez's rear, she hit her foot or hit something of Martinez's while running.
2- Martinez reacts to this contact by stumbling
3- Montano is now affected by Martinez's fumbling and so she also fumbles (all initially caused by herself, Montano)
4- Montano is now fumbling and nearly affects Molly, who is about to make her move and pass her Montano.
5- Molly being a defensive runner that she is, blocks Montano and Molly keeps on about her business, passes Montano and she decided to fall down to the track and stop running, Molly attacks the race as she was about to do.
5- Montano is now all over the place and pops Martinez from the back again.
6- The person who robbed here was Molly, who had to deal with Montano, avoid the drama, and keep on running.
Montano wasn't aware of her surrounding, she was basically running in a box and thought she had no one around her, or that these other runners were just vapor that she can just run through or they would get out of her way because my best guess is that she just imaged so. Her after race interview, she was totally unaware of what happened or how it even happened and the chain of event. She refuse to hold any responsibility.
Thanks Montano. Its your world!!!
Montano while leading down the back stretch chose to run in the outside of lane one in an attempt to make the field run wide if they wanted to pass her. It was an odd move and allowed runners to pass her on the inside and outside at the same time on the curve. This caused the bunching! Her fault. She began this wide run while leading at the bell. The commentator even mentioned it as an odd move.

Montano has demonstrated her brain dead racing tactics ever since her first step on a track.

Did you even watch Montano's race from the US Championships last year?
It wasn't the typical race for Montano.
A slower first lap for sure.
Ludlow was in the lead for the ENTIRE first lap in 2015.
Came thru the 400 in 58.1
Not Montano... and certainly not in 57.45 like in the 800m Final this week. And I would bet that Montano probably set a PR for the first 500m.
At 590m she was "gassed".
I don't care who is at fault. I'm just tired of seeing people fall during races when they are barely touched. Stay on your darn feet, be strong, and run like an Olympian. I've been bumped tons of times and never fallen. You better believe if it was the Olympic trials, I would be holding my ground.
Here's what happened: A bunch of jogging trash posted a bunch of garbage on a piece of trash website.....and they're blaming the wrong person. Not one of the trash apologizes. I guess that's why they're trailer trash.

^^^This. Martinez and Montano need some goddamn balance practice. The fact that there are a bajillion message boards debating the multiple possibilities of who clipped who proves that whatever happened was minor and barely detectable. Why did Martinez flail around so dramatically from a minor clip? People get clipped in almost every damn race. Especially the 800. Martinez could have stuck her elbows out for balance and barely slowed down at all and then everyone would have remained on their feet.

^ The best example of trash so far.
When Martinez is first hit, her leg jerks back and to the left, so how could the bullet have come from that side?* We need to see the suppressed video evidence that Oiselle is holding hostage until they can post their photos on social media.
* For the kids out there this a reference to some of the 'evidence' of a second gunman in the JFK shooting that showed a fundamental misunderstanding of the laws of reaction in physics.

How can Martinez be at fault, everything happened behind her...she had no idea what was going on behind her, unless she has eyes in the back of her head.
No I am not a racist, but Montano is an idiot and bad person.
