Why is it still light out in Chicago, but pitch black at the finish line in Cali? Is the live feed not really live??
Maybe because your mom controls the light switch in your basement.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVU9a2ByptQGlad he's ok, but sounds like they make up rules as they go.
It was his mistake taking strokes or swimming as described on instagram. The river didn't suddenly surge.
Whatever the outcome, this will be controversial unless the boat took he back to the other side and he repeated the crossing.
If someone went off course in a marathon and received a ride back to the other side of the street from where they left off, would they be DQ'd?

But, you are okay with pacers in the Men's Marathon, and sit and kick for 5k and 10k, correct.
Those do not involve coming to a stop in the middle of a race, putting a life jacket on, attempting to swim across a river, getting swept down a river, bushwhacking back to the course, and then continuing on.

Also remember these are the people who DQed Brian Morrison 10 years ago because Jurek helped him stand up when he fell. Seems like a much greater aid being caught by a boat.

Nope, they took him back to shore and was forced to back track off trail back to where he messed up. Probably added half a mile stumbling over trail-free rocky, muddy river shore. Cost him a some time, that is his penalty.
Did anybody even read the instagram?
"he managed to swim to safety near the bottom of the rapids and had to hike back up the riverbank"
Not quite like putting him in a boat and floating him to the 90 mile mark.
I'm still trolling here because I HATE ULTRAS!!!!!
In case no one has figured that out yet.

The same reason they talked about that Bekele guy when he ran his last marathon.
Yeah, because the careers of Bekele and Sage Canaday are quite similar.

The race organizers have been know to ferry runners across the river when the water level was high.

Jim Walmsley=Kathrine Switzer
The River= Jock Semple
The Rescue Boat= Kathrine Switzer's boyfriend
apparently boat counts as rope ... so it was not assistance but safety.

When JW uploads his run to strava (which he uses) it will be fairly obvious from the button hook pattern on the GPS track that he got in the RV after he was swept downriver...
Just 16 minutes separates places 4–8

Similar in that they are not similar at all.
