Double gold? Caster Semenya runs 4:01.99 and dominates African champs

In light of all the backlash against Semenya, it's worth remembering that she has yet to run a single time that is really "out there" in any event. Whatever advantage she may have, she's only as dominant as she is because of relatively weak competition. 1:56 isn't unheard of. 4:01? Come on, that's not even medal contention territory right now.

I'm not sure you're watched her races. She is probably not chasing times to keep the roar down a bit. She just follows the race and then blows everybody apart the last 150-200m. She closed one of her 800s in 13.xx for a 1:56 type time.

i think caster is capeable of running a great deal faster than her times suggest.she usually only runs fast enough to win.no one will ever know how fast she really is,and she doesnt seem to want to chase world records.i wouldnt be suprised if she could run a 1.50 800,and a 3.50 or less,1500,and 400 metres in 48 flat.she has a hell of a kick,so could she run a 200 in 21.7? or faster? when she runs she looks like she is jogging,then turns on some speed at the end.

He's a guy born with a malformed penis. It's not more complicated than that.

Now ranks her 8th in the world at 1500m this year (considering 3 per country)

She's ranked 7th at 400m (considering 3 per country)

Why doesn't she consider the triple at the Olympics?

Why does she have to choose 2 events only?

I looked at the official schedule for Rio (on IAAF website)

It seems like they decided not to hold a 1500m final for women (I can't see it on there). I guess that they will simply give Dibaba the gold medal instead, so Semenya would have one less race to run.

This situation just disgusts me. Caster is ruining women's athletics. Yes I realize it's not his fault he was born this way but he is more man than women. Just claiming to identify as a women, but making no attempt to actually be a women is bush league and shows how much he is taking advantage of the situation.

Any other tranny like him would want to be on hormones to identify more with their preferred gender. Get caster out of sports. I hope the media isn't too PC to bring up the issue when he wins everything from 200m to 10k.

While Semenya may be the first international elite, I'm sure there are more of these athletes to come.

If I had a kid that was potentially international elite and conventional XX there's no way they'd do track. It's all over for conventional XX athletes.

Very few International elites actually end up being Olympic medalists...

I was thinking the same thing. The guy could win 7 events against women.

Meanwhile, the LRC founders totally ignore the issue, which gives him a 10 percent advantage over women! and is much more serious than anything about drugs.

Semenya will distort this years Olympic competition in the events she runs, no doubt. But I'll also bet there will be a reaction. In fact there already is a strong reaction brewing among conventional women competitors. You think they would just sit back and take it, IF, and to me this is a big IF "there are are many more of these athletes to come?" There will be reforms--either the designation of a new competitive division, or women running only in races they know intersex athletes won't compete, creating a de facto new division. In any case, changes will be made.

Its lucky you don't have a kid that is potentially international elite, and loves track, because you'd destroy her chances for success on the world scene and she'd blame you, hating you the rest of her life, eventually writing a tell all memoir, "Pop-Pop Dearest."
