If you are referring to once a runner it was done at 63 second pace. So more like his 3k-2 mile pace. Nice try though.

If we're talking track workouts, 3 x 26 miles 385 yards @ 5k pace, 90 seconds rest in between.
I did this 4 times in 10 days and then a week later I almost PBed in the local Turkey Trot.
4 x marathon @ mile pace

I am going to be a senior this year at my highschool. Besides having done runs up to 10 miles, the hardest workout I have every done came my freshman year, actually. We did 8x800 with 2 min rest. I averaged 2:25, and it really sucked. I remember almost collapsing after the last rep, haha.
I did that same workout my junior year and went a little quicker-- it felt much easier. But, I really like intervals. I'd take that over a long run any day (although long runs are very important). Good luck with your season!
Woooh, ten miles! That's almost a marathon right?

Nope, not really. I don't know if this was supposed to be a condescending comment, but I feel like 10 miles is a respectable distance for most high school cross programs. It's only a 5k race or less.

Agreed. If you are doing runs longer than 10 miles regularly in 5k training, you're doing something wrong.
My vote would be Bruce Denton's 60 quarters in sets of 5, 110 jog between the quarters, 440 between the sets, 62-63 effort.

400/800 guy here. probably a 1x400m in 54, then 6x(50,100,150).
the 400 was at around 90%.. ran the workout with a lot of lactic acid.

As a junior last year I was training for a 3200 and ran a threshold 800, followed by 3x1600 at 4:58, 4:59, 5:00 w/ 3 minutes rest, then another 800. It was pretty gross.
I also mentally hate ladder workouts, knowing they're only going to get harder toward the end.
200 @ 800 pace
400@mile
800@ 2 mile
1600@ Threshold
3200 @ Marathon
1600 @Threshold
800@ 2 mile
400@ mile
200 @800
I broke 10 minutes (9:57) three days later.
How much rest between the ladder workouts?
1x3000m @7:19

yeah, it was supposed to be condescending. Most people on this board probably read that and thought "your life ain't s**t!"
I just did my yearly "Fathers Day Special"
Done it every year since I graduated college. Once I finished with the team and started coaching myself things just started falling into place.
The workout starts simply with 30min 8k jog to loosen the muscles and system.
It's a forward and reverse ladder. Part 1 is just for some fast but controlled/relaxed turnover. Middle portion is broken up by easy aerobic road running on my neighbor loop course.
100m-10.0
200m- 20.0
400m- 45.0
800m- 1:45.0
1500m- 3:30
3k- 7:30
5k- 13:00
10k- 26:40
1/2 Merry Tempo- 60 min
Full Thon easy aerobic recovery- 2 hours
Back to track for ladder breakdown
10k- 25:00
5k-12:30
3k- 7:15
1600- 3:30
800- 1:38
400- 40.0
200- 18.0
100- 8.0
Times are with rolling start but Finishlynx FAT. Now I just rest and repeat the workout later this evening after dinner.
You sir just won everything.

Was that his Maff pace?

Are you aware it was fiction, done (fictionally) on an un-measured grass track out in a Florida swamp, with the coach completely absent for the last set of 20? How can you be sure he didn't slow to (fictional) 65s and then die abysmally in the last few reps?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
