The race video. His technique compared to most was excellent. It didn't look great in the early slow laps or at the end when he rigged, but it was fantastic the rest of the race.
You have to be an idiot to say he's horrible at steeple hurdling, which you are.
Did you watch the video? His hurdling form was absolutely terrible. The last lap was atrocious to watch, especially the last few hurdles.
The good news is that this means he has a lot of potential to improve. If he can improve his form, he'll easily knock 10 seconds off his time.

His last two were terrible because he nearly wiped out in the water pit! One bad water jump can really screw the next few hurdles up.

60.02 to be exact
The coaching change to Warhurst paid off big time. Good for him, I think he’ll only improve with more years in the Very Nice Track Club system. If only he made the switch earlier, but hindsight is always 20/20.
That guy has so much heart!! GO BLUE!!

Who was coaching him at first?
Great job by him making the Olympic team. He should be proud of all the work he put in.
He goes home relieved 😌
It has been cool to see him training with and mentoring Hobbs. Great race today, perfect execution of strategy and tactics.
Go BigBlue! Updike made the commanding lead with 1lap Mason must've heard Ronnie, "relax!" In steeple there's so much race left @ 150...he really had a great form/clearance over the water barrier running downhill off of it. Great timing!!
What do you know about the steeplechase? :)

The early laps, and the end, he led with his left leg, which he stiff legs it. Not good. When he leads with his right leg he's great.
Word to Mr Ferlic: lead with your knee (bent) not with your toes and leg locked straight. This is especially problematic for tall runners. When you stick your leg out straight like that it diminishes the available clearance window of your trajectory. Mentally pull your knee up first then extend as you clear the barrier. If you do that you'll give yourself at least 18 inches more wiggle room at your takeoff. If Sullivan can't coach it talk to Ronnie.
Gutsy run, by the way.

You're responding to a 5 year old thread.
So what?
All of these types of threads should teach people a lesson on hubris. It's quite funny actually.

Wins NCAAs pretty convincingly and should put pressure on the Huling / Cabral / Bayer types to earn their spot on the Olympic team. Though obviously not the talent level of Jager, he looks like a natural steepler to me.
What about the love for Bor? Does he even have his own thread? Won a DL, won handily here, medal threat in Tokyo.
Go blue!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
