That 11:30 by Don Ritchie was the track world record until Oleg Kharitonov from Russia ran 11:28:03 in 2002.
The road 100 mile records are still held by the great Yiannis Kouros at 11:46:37 in 1984 and the great Ann Trason at 13:47:41 in 1991.
It looks like Mr. Young did not break the 100 mile world record as a split in his world record transcontinental IHOP across the US attempt.
I thought Mr. Young would get the 100 mile world record (at high altitude and uphill would of been even better Robbie).
Oh well. Robbie was able to hit multiple 18 mile sections at about 5:50 pace, which would be the equivalent performance of around a 2:37 marathon (6:00 pace).
Robbie was able to do multiple PR performances on this trip which absolutely smash all his previous marathon performances in just marathon races of 26.2 miles of distance.
Robbie was even able to do his PR smashing during a longer 3,000+ mile run across the United States.
What was Robert Young's previous PR for just the 26.2 mile marathon distance before this 3,000+ mile run?
