I think just the first 3. The region is trash. Nebraska Wesleyan got beat by the following at Paul Short: NYU (4th in atlantic, but probably in), Haverford (auto), Middlebury (4th in NE, probably in), Oneonta (5th in atlantic, bubble squad), Allegheny (auto), Washington & Lee (auto, south), TCNJ (3rd in atlantic, probably in), Conn College (11th in NE, OUT), Ithaca (9th Atlantic, OUT), Wesleyan (12th in NE, OUT).
I'm reminded of the saying "it's better to keep your mouth closed and appear ignorant than to open your mouth and confirm." Coaches, if you're going to take your team out east, make sure they are good because it's better for other people/the committee to just think that the central region is bad, as opposed to confirming it. Could be the difference between them giving the benefit of the doubt to the 4th team in the region over the 6th or 7th in New England.
Frankly, I'm not sure that Olaf's resume would stand up to strict scrutiny. They haven't really raced or beat anyone besides teams in the Central Region. But I think they have a reputation such that they will get in. Particularly because they didn't go race somewhere and get to beat to confirm these suspicions.
10/15: Lost to UW-Lax, beat Neb Wes & GAC, 10/01: Lost to UW-Lax & UW-EC, beat Saint John's, 09/17: Lost to UW-EC, beat GAC
Granted UWL and UWEC have good squads which will contend for the podium. Looking at Loras' results doesn't tell us much. They've beat up on bad teams from the region all year--not that they aren't a good team. But Wartburg's results would seem to indicate that there are some teams that are on the bubble that should be ahead of Olaf based off of UWO results where Wartburg was beaten by ONU (3rd in atlantic), AUG (9th in Midwest, OUT).
