There are no "deals" in a race. The whole stupid thing was Ayana's idea, a weak attempt to keep Genzebe from getting away from her. Genzebe ignored the whole preposterous idea from the beginning and ran her own race. A 14:15.

The commentators are being very insensitive about Caster Semenya. That was downright cruel and painful to listen to.
What did they say? Is there a video replay?

And yet they don't expect anything about Niyonsaba?
I don't get the accusations about Niyonsaba. She's not failed any gender testing like Semenya has, or did I miss something major. In the meantime, leave her alone.
I agree. I don't like the way they address it. Semenya has done nothing wrong. SHe shouldn't be treated like a villian.
Total bullocks. Everyone knows Semenya has failed gender testing, including Semenya himself. If rape were legal, would you be saying "oh it's not his fault, as rape is legal" ~ yet that is what Semenya is doing right out in public.

Ayana comes up short of the WR again. Everything was perfect for her, she was at 12:00 with two laps to go. She doesn't have the speed to do it. She is one of the best pace runners ever, but she just doesn't have another gear.
Genzebe is the only one who can break that, but she would need to be paced by Ayana or her sister.
Yeah Dibaba sure showed Ayana a year ago, from way behind her.
Wise fantasy-leaguers steer clear of men's 800, too unpredictable. But many gambled on Taoufik and lost a few points. Everyone doubled down on Semenya though. Lots of easy picks and MR's.

Urine idiot.

I don't think Ayana can do it. Everything was perfect for her today. Even running on her own continent, with a crowd in her favor.
Some may not call 70 degrees with 68% humidity and 13 mph winds ideal.
Perfect: I don't think that word means what you think it means.

She's always got some excuse. Like maybe her shoelace was tied too tight, or a balloon in the sky distracted her. The fact is she just doesn't have the speed.

Bad news for Jager... Kipruto waved, jogged the last 150 and still ran 2 seconds off of Jager's lifetime PB. If he had actually ran he would've closed in 57 in a 7:57 race... No way Jager competes with that.
The thing about Jager's OXY close was that he went 100% to the line. In 2015 World Champs Kemboi closed in 56 whilst jogging after the last barrier.
Ok Epstein, we know what you're up to.

This is only her second time formally going after the world record... what excuses? I feel like the heat and winds would have slowed her down.
Also, I think speed more goes with a tactical race. Your "fact" doesn't really make sense in this scenario. Running 12 and 1/2 laps at 68 pace requires more strength/endurance than speed.
The commentators were spot on in their evaluation of Itsamanyeah.
In the Paris race they were at 12:04 with two laps to go. Ayana was at 12:00 yesterday. Dibaba smoked her on the final lap and ended up with a faster time than Almaz Ayana had in Rabat.
So much for that theory.
