Sorry my main source of running and training is this site and sorry if this question has been asked before.(once again excuse the crap grammar, im lazy) My longterm goal is to break 17. I have read some of daniels book and I am a little lost. I live in the mountains so weekly mileage is alot harder here than my other home in greenville, sc. I have kept a running log the past few weeks. 63,72,48 miles (too big of drop, one day off riding the other riding.) I am also currently doing speed work too. That 72 mile week is more like 85 plus miles anywhere else where there isn't a hill or mountain everywhere. Daniels says to train at marathon pace, this would be like 6:12 (not happening). 7:00 flat on easy days but thats hard up here sometimes. Should I do slower runs once or twice a week. My legs feel tired. I am known for overtraining, but Im getting better. I have slowed down my distance runs and when my body is shot I take an active recovery day or run easy. I also need a workout that can build my confidence. I am supposed to race the indoor mile on thursday. Sat.-32 by 200 with 200 brisk jog (avg 38 and under) Sun. 48 mile ride, quads dead. Monday- 8 miles trails def. under 7 min pace (ran with team and tried to be practice champ) Tuesday 8 miles. 1 mile stride (sprint straights jog curves 5:54, got carried away but didn't feel hard) I need some advice on weekly mileage for up here in the mountains for a runner searching to get better. If any diseal letsrun.com guys want to help a bro out thanks alot. I have also done a few two a days and was wondering how many times a week I should do them. Last question should I take a day off a week. The previous week I did a workout on a brutal day outside, track was soaked, icy and muddy with a nasty head wind. 6 by 800 with 2 min rest. 2:41 avg. 2 quarters 77 and 75. My legs just feel like they can't go for long distance on track workouts. I want to do a good mile workout but my legs won't go. Please give me some advice (sorry if i am annoying I just need help)
