How is that confusing for you?
OP said nothing about DL points leader -- that is your inference. In any case there are often ties in DL points, what then, the same situation we have now -- multiple athletes in the same race with the same color jersey. Also, DL points really only have meaning for the athletes in the running for year-end prizes. Spectators I don't think really care.
Genius, I am the OP.
If there's a tie, both leaders can have a yellow freaking jersey, you autistic. Are you really going to get hung up on that? If there is a DL race with Kiprop and Mahkloufi as the only two guys in a yellow jersey, by definition that race will break the tie so that actually seems like a pretty good idea!
And, um, do you think that maybe, just maybe, spectators don't really care about DL points because they don't really know? I have been to multiple DL meets and watched dozens on TV, and there is never much mention of the DL points chase. So of course nobody cares. In other sports (that people actually watch, e.g. tennis, golf, auto racing), the prize/points/series leaders are discussed and well-known. (They also don't drive identical cars in NASCAR, which any child would know is helpful to telling who's who.)
