He's always a contender for a medal. He's an indoor gold medallist, has a bronze from Daegu, a silver from Moscow, and also won gold in 2007 for the Pan American Junior Championships.
In terms of raw times, he's run 3:30/3:50, could probly run 13:10 or faster, has a sub 1:45... and is only 26. He's tremendous under pressure and still improving. Oh, and he always looks smooth - and has been called "strong boy" by Kiprop.
We talk about ridiculous high school times, but Centro seems to indicate that there's nothing wrong with running within yourself in high school. He only ran 4:04 for 1600m in high school, though he did have that remarkable 8:41 to beat Craig Forys.
I'm excluding Mo Farah since he was born in Somalia.
