I think Hunter was 9 seconds back. They said 8 seconds back. The leader is a 408 guy. Jack Salisvbury of LaSalle.
Salisbury went out in 57. Hunter went out in 56., Hunter might be able to do this as Salibury could blow up off of that.

Hunter is out 159. LEader in 202. Hunte'rs in 2nd. Hunter's about 5-6 seconds back.
Kid in the lead has been looking over his shoulder all the time.
300 for hutner., 304 for the kid. Hunter is going to catch him easily.
Holy sh**.
He might have outkicked hunter. Hunter caught up with 200 to go. THe Salisbury kid made him fight for it. Had the lead the entire last 100. '
Hunter's lean was better.

Hunter FTW.
I was wrong about the the baton going to the outside of the track. THat was another team. They weren't as far back as I thought. THere was another team in last.
Wow
3:59 split?
Wow! I'm a sprint/sprint relays guy - but I always watch the 4x800 and distance medley at Penns. Boy did that race ever deliver!

Announcers said 4:01 for Hunter
Results say 4:00.73 split
Baton went out to the outdide of the track. He's close to 100 meters down. Ok slight exaggeration. 50?
If I"m hunter and get it with no chance, I wouldn't even run the anchor hard. Just jog it.

If I'm Hunter, or anyone else, I go get em. If life deals you lemons, make lemonade.

HS Boys DMR is off. Hunter's team just dropped the baton in the first 200. My god. What a let down.
Famous last words.
I knew this was a race for the ages (hadn't seen it, just the post-race thread here), but this raises it to another level.

And that's why you're not Hunter.
She tripped on the rail and/or fell down with 100 to go.
Live national TV coverage begins in NBC Sports Network now. They're showing four and half hours (!) of live track between Penn and Drake today.
Shocker. USA screws up a 4x1 handoff.
Great job, Dennis Mitchell!

It's kind of funny. NBCSN did a feature on Dennis Mitchell right before the race and they showed him coaching Tyson Gay specifically. And of course Gay is the guy who messes up the handoff.
