Second this. Just the speed. The way in which the other athletes are sprinting as hard as they can from 500m and Rudisha is just striding out always impresses me.

Absolutely incredible!
I never get tired of watching that video.
Ryun's 36.4 last 300 in '67 - part of the last lap is missing, but putting 4 seconds on fast finishers over the last 300 (after being behind) but it is freakish to watch because he ran 3:38.2 - and most people aren't aware the race was auto-timed.
Of course I forgot to post the link:
No knock on Craig. I find this one stupdily hilarious. It's just so absurb!
Penn 4xmile is pretty good from last year. I also like the 2009 Penn Relays Championship of America HS 4x800m. 2007 NON 2 mile also very good (lots of future big names in that one). Professionally, the mile WR is incredible and Komen's 7:20 to me looks like a full sprint for 3,000 meters.

So much hype going into the race, and it more than lived up to the hype.

I call bullshit on this. This video does not exist. I soooo wish it did though.
I love watching this one video of Webb's Paris 1500 (2007-3:30) that's set to an Interpol track called "pace is the trick". It always gets me fired up. Idk. It just works for me. Growing up, Webb was a god and this just captured it perfectly for me.
https://youtu.be/Uz5JMR22AjMWatching keryn McCann's Commonwealth marathon win sends chills down my spine when the crowd roars as they enter the stadium- there is never going to be a sound like that ever again.
https://youtu.be/pBBngsAvafQA lot of great ones here, would add:
1) Bikila winning in Rome -- the dusk is great, just beautiful, as is the symbolism of an Ethiopian winning in the home of the former colonizers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Dppdcy1pyM
2) Somebody already posted Bayi-Walker 1971 -- it's fantastic
3) Yifter vs. Virgin, 1979 -- What a feeling of dread Virgin must have had. Just an unshakeable shadow. Has any running nickname been so earned as Yifter the Shifter?
Will try to think of others.

What a ridiculous race. Mottram has proven again and again that he has the biggest balls. I'm dead. That race. Holy shit
A race, with drama and excitement - this is my top pick:

"Bad form given what happened to him." Hmm? His wife caught him cheating on her and locked him (and his mistress) in the room. He then jumped off the balcony (either panicked or angry) and died from the fall. I certainly think it is an unfortunate death, but I don't think it makes your joke 5 years later poking fun at people calling him a little overweight in a marathon to be in poor taste. Really you're mocking the people that called him overweight, if anything.

A goonies joke based on the fact he was supposed to be several kilos overweight for this race. It's bad form on my part to joke about his demons given what happened to him.
