one guy tried, ended up shooting his girlfriend. They've stopped doing research on it
Carbon fiber has already made its way into insoles and likely sprinting spikes as well.

Already been done a long time ago but several comapanies.
Brooks shoes had some technology called propulsion plates starting back in the early 1990s.
Adidas has some technology called pro plate back in the early 2000s and they put it in one of their racing flats.
One of the fila racing flats in the late 1990s had a carbon fibre plate in the midsole as well..
Well is there a verdict on carbon fiber? I watched a couple of videos on that carbon fiber shoe and the idea of having the feel of riding a carbon bike. That is a big selling point with me.
Brooks had a trainer called The Truth back in the 90s that had a carbon fiber midsole. I'm kind of fat but I still got 600 miles from the shoes, about 200 miles more than I normally get. Great shoe but they discontinued it pretty quickly.
Yeah, the old Michael Johnson spikes, the JSC I think, but the one with gold stripes, not the gold lace box, had a carbon fiber sole. Super light shoe, only like 6 spikes (permanent), not very aggressive; I was a big fan for the 4. This was around '99.
Hoka is coming out with one this spring or summer, called the carbon rocket i think.
extremely uncomfortable
the tracer has potential
Bump. good call buddy. this worked out pretty well!
Adidas had the torsion bar in 87 or 88. The signs were there.
If only a company other than Fila had done that first carbon road racer, we might have been here a lot sooner.
