I'm sure this is blood sugar related somehow, because it only seems happen when I'm trying to drop some weight. I just can't seem to nail down any more rhyme or reason than that, which would be really useful so I can know what to do when it happens, predict it better, or ideally prevent it?
So the symptoms are,
Starts with seeing spots, actually more like floating blobs, after around 2 miles. They're subtle, and only cause issues with seeing if it's dark. Usually gone after 4-5 miles, if I'm still running.
The spots don't always spell the end of a training run, but usually indicate it will become uncomfortable. Though again, not always.
If the run does become uncomfortable, I'll get a little cold, but continue sweating. Coordination seems off, feel shaky. On a treadmill I'll swear the belt isn't staying a consistent speed.
If it gets bad, I can power through it if i *really* want to, but often I just don't want to deal with it.
Anyway, I doubt this is a medical issue (yet), but am really curious if anyone else experiences anything similar or has any insight?
